Dr. Julian Wong Joon Ip is a psychiatrist and medical lecturer with the Department of Psychological Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours (MBBS)(Hons) from Monash University, and later completed a Master of Psychological Medicine (MPM) at Universiti Malaya.

Dr. Wong is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as research work. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Wong is a practicing psychiatrist at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, where he provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. His clinical interests encompass a broad range of psychiatric comorbidities, with particular focus on consultation-liaison psychiatry, community-based mental health services, and psychotherapy. Currently, he is a member of the consultation-liaison psychiatry services and the community mental health services (CMHS) in Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.

Dr. Wong is also passionate about improving mental health literacy and advocating for mental wellness in the community. He regularly participates in public forums and speaking engagements to raise awareness and promote better mental health practices, on top of presenting at conferences and symposiums locally, regionally and internationally.
