Dr. Julian Wong Joon Ip is a psychiatrist and medical lecturer at the Department of Psychological Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. He earned his MBBS with Honours from Monash University and a Master of Psychological Medicine from Universiti Malaya. His clinical interests include psychiatric comorbidities, with a special focus on consultation-liaison psychiatry, community mental health, and psychotherapy. He is part of the consultation-liaison psychiatry and Community Mental Health Services (CMHS) in Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. Dr. Wong is a certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) clinician, completed training under Dr. Gregg Jacobs (University of Massachusetts Medical School), and has completed Pre-Core Training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) with Dr. Samuel Cheng at Changi General Hospital. He will be pursuing ISTDP Core Training as a subspecialty. Dr. Wong regularly speaks at public forums, conferences, and symposia to discuss latest evidence based clinical practices, promote mental wellness and improve mental health literacy in the community.
