PROF. DR. YONG CHEN CHEN

  Chen Chen is a Professor at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya. She is also the Founder and CTO of IOMInsight Sdn Bhd, a spin-off company from Universiti Malaya Centre of Innovation and Enterprise focusing on developing Economic System modeling for scenario analyses involving 62 countries and 35 economic sectors. With over 9 years of experience in consultancy work with government and private agencies, such as PwC, ILO, EPU (currently known as the Ministry of Economy), MOHR (currently known as KESUMA),MASTIC, CIDB, SOSCO, WorldBank, JPAL, PE Research Sdn Bhd and etc), she also actively involved in research collaboration work with the University of Pennsylvania, World Bank, Harvard University, J-PAL, Singapore Food Agency and local/international Universities/Institutions. She has contributed to research and book publications, facilitate learning and programme development, and foster professional growth together with the stakeholders of the University.

DATIN SRI PROF. DR. SUHAIZA HANIM BINTI DATO MOHAMAD ZAILANI

Datin Sri Prof. Dr Suhaiza Zailani, FASc, is an expert in supply chain management (SCM). She received her MSc in operational research and a PhD in management science from Lancaster University, England, United Kingdom. Currently serving as a professor of supply chain at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Malaya, she has made significant contributions to academia and the business community. During her academic career, Suhaiza Zailani has held several key positions, including Head of the Training Section and Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies. She also served as the director of the University of Malaya Entrepreneurship Center (UMEC). Under her leadership, UMEC received recognition as one of the top 20 entrepreneurship centres globally by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business' (AACSB) Entrepreneurship Spotlight Challenge. This recognition highlights her commitment to providing students with practical business experience and tools for success. From 2022 to the present, Suhaiza Zailani has been the Director of the Ungku Aziz Centre (UAC), which supports disadvantaged and vulnerable communities through collaborations with government agencies and corporations. This appointment further demonstrates her dedication to making a positive impact on society, for which the centre won the Malaysia Global Sustainability Awards 2025 for the Basmi Miskin Tegar project.  Her primary area of expertise lies in supply chain management, with a specific focus on sustainability and halal issues. Her achievements in SCM are evident through her extensive track record, including supervising numerous postgraduate students, securing research grants, conducting consultations, fostering industrial partnerships, and holding professional appointments. Suhaiza Zailani has also made significant contributions to the field through her publications. She has authored articles for newspapers' columns and written a textbook on operations management, widely used by undergraduates. Additionally, she has published more than 300 papers in various citation-indexed journals, with a strong presence in ISI-based and Scopus journals. Her impact on the academic community is reflected in her impressive citation records, with an ISI H-Index of 49 (7,696 total citations), a Scopus H-Index of 58 (11,575 citations), and a Google Scholar H-Index of 83 (24,105 citations) as of May 4, 2026. These numbers highlight the significance and influence of her research in the field. At the institutional level, her excellence has been consistently recognised by Universiti Malaya, where she was conferred the title of Distinguished Researcher (2016) and, most recently, named the Most Cited Researcher (2024). Her scholarly contributions have also received international recognition through multiple Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence (2016, 2019, and 2023), reflecting the high quality and influence of her research publications. Her academic excellence and global impact are also evidenced by her consistent recognition as one of the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University for six consecutive years (2020–2025), during which she was the only scholar from the social sciences discipline at Universiti Malaya (UM) to achieve this distinction. Further reinforcing her national prominence, she was recognised as a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) in 2024 and, in 2025, was honoured as a Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM) by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to research excellence and national impact. In addition, she was awarded the prestigious Malaysia Scopus Research Excellence Award (Societal Impact) by Elsevier and the Ministry of Higher Education in 2024, acknowledging the significant real-world impact of her research at both national and international levels.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. HUSAINA BANU BT KENAYATHULLA

Dr. Husaina Banu Kenayathulla is an Associate Professor at Department of Educational Management, Planning and Policy. She obtained her PhD from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Dean (Postgraduate Studies). Her research interests include Education policy, Economics and Finance in education, Comparative and International education and Higher Education. She has published more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. Leadership experience includes Deputy Dean (Research and Enterprise), Head of Department, Chief Liaison Officer, Risk Manager, and Course Coordinator. Editorial experience includes positions such as Editor-in Chief, Associate Editor, Editorial Advisory Board Member, and Peer reviewer of education journals. Has co-edited a Special issue in the International Journal of Education Development. Latest book chapter is published by Springer Nature Singapore. Notable journal publications include papers in International Journal of Education Development, Asia Pacific Education Review, Heliyon and COMPARE: A Journal of Comparative and International Education. She has been invited as a speaker for panel sessions at various international conferences. She had been invited as a Panel Expert by UNESCO in projects such as Shadow Education, Micro certification, Artificial Intelligence,  Developing Subject Specific Quality Standards in the Asia Pacific region. She has been the Principal Investigator for grants at the national and international levels on School Finance, Digital Financial literacy, Financial Literacy, Employability, Internationalization, and Comparative & Higher Education projects. She is also a recipient of the SATU project in collaboration with National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan in Comparative and Sustainable Education Project. She has collaborated with Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia on entrepreneurship and sustainability projects. She is also involved as a Consultant for the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) project on Quality Education, Malaysian Ministry of Human Resource on Employability for TVET Graduates & Malaysian Ministry of Education for Policy on Lifelong Learning, Compulsory Education, and District Education Ranking Measures.
