Dr. Lee Wan Ling is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at Universiti Malaya (UM). With a professional career spanning over three decades, Dr. Lee transitioned from clinical excellence in coronary nursing (1992–2000) to nursing education, joining UM in 2011. Since obtaining her PhD in 2018, Dr. Lee has established herself as a prolific researcher in the field of mobile health (m-Health), technology in nursing education, coronary nursing, and aged care (particularly in long-term facilities). Her expertise also extends to the cross-cultural adaptation and validation of questionnaires, health literacy, critical care, and non-communicable disease. Her research portfolio is characterized by high-impact, interdisciplinary collaborations. Among her projects in aged care research include the local adaptation and implementation of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) iSupport for Dementia, in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia and Sunway University (UMG003C-2022) (iSupport- Malaysia website). This project aims to provide universal access to an online psychoeducational program for caregivers of people living with dementia through the international iSupport researcher network. Driven by a keen interest in the application of technology in patient care, Dr. Lee is expanding the development of an electronic activity tracking system (EATs) prototype called UMFit™ (Grant RF009C-2018). She works alongside a team of UM researchers on the project "AI-Enabled Application for Personalization and Monitoring of Fitness Among Cardiac Rehabilitation Patients" (PRGS/1/2022/SKK01/UM/02/1) that aim to build an AI-enabled, hybrid cardiac rehabilitation program that involves international partners such as Huami and Huawei. Additionally, she is a core member of the UM-HEART-VR project (Erasmus+), which aims to improve communication and empathy soft skills through VR-based Problem-Based Learning (PBL) educational activities. He was born in 1965 in Sabak Bernam, Selangor, Malaysia. His early education was from his village in Sabak Bernam before he went to Sekolah Alam Shah, Kuala Lumpur, and joined Universiti Malaya in 1985 to pursue his studies in creative and descriptive writing. He graduated in 1988 and later focused his study on publishing and book marketing for his Master degree in 1991. He finishes his three year PhD program in 2001 in magazine publishing from the University Malaya. Along the way he went to Melbourne and Stanford University, California for training courses in book publishing. In 1995 he went to London School of Printing under the CHICEA fellowship from the British Council. Since 1992, he is a lecturer in the Department of Media Studies, University Malaya and became an Associate Professor in 2002. He is a now a Professor at the Department Media and Communication Studies. He served as a Director of University Malaya Press for six years (2001-2006), Head of Department of Media Studies (2009-2010 and 2011-2017), and the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Art and Social Sciences, University Malaya (2010-2011). Since 2020, he is a Professor at the Department of Media and Communication Studies, University Malaya. Hamedi is an active speaker and trainer in the field of book publishing, magazine publishing, editing, scholarly writing, and profesional writing. His workshops in academic writing, transferring a thesis into a book, profesional writing, and editing has been conducted in almost all public university in Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. He is the chief editor for Asian Journal of Media Studies as well as sits in the editorial board of various academic journals in communications and media in Malaysia, Pakistan and Indonesia. Hamedi sits in the committee of ASEAN Scholarly Publishers Association (ASPA) in Manila, former member of Majlis Penerbitan Ilmiah Malaysia (MAPIM), a member of Association of Scholarly Publishing (ASP) in New York, the former Secretary of Yayasan Penataran Ilmu (YPI), committee member of Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair, and alumni of Stanford Scholarly Publishing (SSP). He is also the President of Malaysian Editors Association since 2011.

I am Huong Nguyen, a Vietnamese literature teacher with more than 20 years experienced in teaching. I also conduct Vietnamese classes for children at Vietnam Embassy from 2016 until now. I am the treasurer cum secretary at Malaysia - Vietnam Friendship Association. My objective is to popularize Vietnamese language and culture to more people. I also hope to be able to connect and exchange students between the Universiti Malaya and universities in Vietnam; promote Malaysian education to Vietnamese students to strengthen cooperation between Malaysia and Vietnam in the fields of culture and education.
