Professor Dr. Haris Abd Wahab is a faculty member at the Department of Social Administration and Justice, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. He currently serves as the Deputy Dean (Development) and previously held the position of Deputy Dean (Student Affairs) within the same faculty. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Haris specializes in Community Development and has been instrumental in advancing teaching, learning, and research in the fields of community development and social work. He lectures on various subjects including social problems, social work, community development, social marketing, research methodology, and social theories. His research interests encompass community well-being, social care programs for at-risk children in Malaysia, children’s well-being, and social development among vulnerable groups. Before joining academia, Dr. Haris served as a Medical Social Worker at the Ministry of Health Malaysia from 1996 to 2000, where he gained valuable field experience in social work practice.
show more »Ts Dr Mazura Mahdzir is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Quantity Surveying, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2006, a Master's Degree in Construction Contract Management from the University of Technology Malaysia in 2010 and obtained his PhD in the field of Built Environment from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2018. She is actively involved in research of various fields especially in technology innovation. Her research interests include managing construction SMEs and focusing on management part especially top management decision. To be more specific is on the managerial decision making capabilities in dealing with any innovation adoption decision (ie BIM).
show more »Dr. Muhammad Fazril Razif became a member of the Department of Molecular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine in 2014. He completed his undergraduate education at Murdoch University (Perth, Australia) in 2007 with a double degree in BSc (Biomedical Science/Molecular Biology) and BSc (Forensic Biology and Toxicology; Minor in Criminology). In 2009, he joined the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research to pursue his PhD research. After four years, he received his PhD from the School of Medicine and Pharmacology (University of Western Australia, Australia), with his project entitled “RNA-binding Proteins: Unraveling the code”. During his candidature, Dr. Fazril was shortlisted as a state-finalist for the AusBiotech-GSK Student Excellence Awards (2011) for his work. Dr. Fazril has worked on numerous research projects, including the expression and validation of synthetic proteins, genomics and transcriptomics studies on acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, diabetes and schizophrenia. In 2017, he joined the Medicinal Mushroom Research Group (MMRG) and has great interest in studying the genome, transcriptome and proteome of medicinal mushrooms. His current research also focuses on the expression of novel proteins found in medicinal mushrooms and their bioactivities via pre-clinical and clinical studies. Academically, he has spearheaded the development of three new courses in the Department. These are GIM2001 Body and Your Health; MIX3001 Techniques in Molecular Medicine and GDM0006 Global Trends in Food and Health. He is also an active Faculty member, with positions as the Deputy Head (Research & Publication) in the Visibility, Information and Communication (VICFOM) Unit, member of the Internal Audit team under the Quality Management System (QMS) Committee, and member of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee (OSHE). As a Principal Investigator, he has supervised 4 PhD and 2 MSc students, and is currently supervising 3 PhD and 1 MSc candidates . He has also published 3 Book chapters and 20 research articles, and have received a total of 8 research grants (3 as Principal Investigator). In 2017, he was awarded with “The Highest Number of Publications in the Department” award. In 2021, he was nominated by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) to represent Universiti Malaya at the National Young Scientist Award 2021, Academy of Sciences Malaysia. At present, he is an Editorial Board member of two journals and is an Executive Committee member of the Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB).
