DR. LAI LEE LEE

Dr Lai Lee Lee, BNurSc (Hons) (Major Teaching), MMedSci (Anesthesiology) and PhD MedSci (Medicine) Dr Lai is a senior lecturer at Universiti Malaya and Clinical Researcher in Oncoplastic Breast Unit at Universiti Malaya Medical Center (UMMC). She is actively involved in different areas of clinical research at Universiti Malaya. Her area of interest is mainly in Clinical Breast Surgical Oncology such as new techniques such as minimally invasive breast surgeries (endoscopic), ERAS in Breast Reconstruction, and developing Decision Aid in Breast Reconstruction. Apart from this, she is very active in clinical trials such as breast cancer oncological treatments such as few clinical trials such as the risk for breast cancer, Intraoperative Radiotherapy (TARGIT B Trial), improving outcomes for breast-conserving surgery and oncology treatment for breast cancer, Biomarkers research for breast cancers, Epidemiology research, Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) and Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) research.

DR. MOHAMAD BIN HUSSIN

MOHAMAD HUSSIN was born in Sik, Kedah, Malaysia, in 1975. He received a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the Al al-Bayt University, Jordan, in 1999, and a Master of Modern Language Studies from the University of Malaya in 2007. In 2017, he received Ph.D. degrees in Arabic Language studies from the Universiti Putra Malaysia. In 2017 he joined the Department of Arabic and Middle East Languages, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur as a Senior Lecturer. He has taught a variety of courses in Arabic Language Studies at undergraduate programs and supervised some postgraduate MA and Ph.D. candidates.  His research interests include learning Arabic as a second language, Arabic for specific purposes, Arabic Language Studies, translation Arabic to Malaya and Arabic Rhetorical especially the Prophet Muhammad (saw) bayān. He has published articles in international and national journals, books, and other publications. One of his remarkable works is he published a few article journals indexed by WoS and Scopus.  Apart from his teaching experiences, he is actively taking part as thesis examiners and article reviewers, both at local and international levels. Besides than that, he is also assigned as one of the editorial board members in some of the acknowledged journals, International Journal of Humanities and Journal of Language Teaching, Literature and Linguistics (JLTLL), to name a few. In addition, he has been appointed as Chief Editor for al-Dad Journal.

PROF. DR. SHIREEN ANNE NAH HAN YIEN

Professor Shireen Anne Nah is a senior consultant paediatric surgeon and Head of the Division of Paediatric Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. Shireen draws on a wealth of experience working overseas. Upon completion of paediatric surgery specialist training at the Paediatric Institute, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, she underwent a 2 year clinical research fellowship at the UCL Institute of Child Health & Great Ormond Hospital for Children in London, UK. This was followed by 8 years as a paediatric surgeon in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore, before she returned to Malaysia in 2019. Shireen’s areas of research interest are congenital colorectal conditions in children, health outcomes, and quality of life. She is passionate about quality and standards in postgraduate training, and champions sustainability and diversity in surgery. She is also engaged in multiple international collaborative networks in Singapore, UK, Europe and North America, and hopes to increase loco-regional collaborations in ASEAN nations. Shireen is a proud UM alumna, who completed her undergraduate medical degree and postgraduate surgical training at the Faculty of Medicine.
