SR DR. HASNIYATI BINTI HAMZAH

Dr Hasniyati Hamzah is a senior lecturer with the Department of Real Estate, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya. She holds PhD in Property from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Dr. Hasniyati actively researches and publishes in the areas of housing, urban studies, real estate law and real estate education. Her main research expertise is in housing tenure, which has led to the Malaysian Surveyor's Best Paper (PMVS Division) 2015 and a consultancy with Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) on the Rent-to-Own scheme in Iskandar Malaysia. Among her research topics are housing pathways, alternative housing tenure, Mass Customised Housing, Smart Cities and professional socialisation among real estate students. She also studies strata management law in Malaysia, particularly the strata tribunal and the management for mixed strata development (sub-MC). Her research approaches have mainly leaned towards qualitative and mixed methods. Dr Hasniyati has published in top tier journals including Urban Studies, Housing Theory and Society, Journal of Housing and Built Environment, Open House International and Pacific Rim Real Estate Society Journal. She is a member of the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society (PRRES), Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) and Malaysian Institute of Property and Facilities Management (MIPFM).  She currently sits in the Examination and Publication Sub-committees of the Property Surveying Division of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia. In the past, she has served as Article Editor for SAGE Open, Internal Journal of Property Sciences and Journal of Design and Built Environment, besides serving as a reviewer for a number of local and international journals. In terms of teaching, Dr Hasniyati teaches predominantly real estate law subjects and has examined PhD and masters theses on the subject. She currently supervises PhD students undertaking research in strata management, public housing maintenance, Transit Oriented Development and Smart City.

DR. NOOR HAYATI BINTI AZAMI

Dr. Noor Hayati Azami graduated from University of Malaya dental school in 2006 before serving the Ministry of Health for 1 year. She later joined the Faculty of Dentistry as a tutor in 2007 and subsequently pursued her specialist training in restorative dentistry in 2010. She received her Master in Clinical Dentistry in Restorative Dentistry from University Malaya in 2014 with special interest in endodontic. Currently, she is a clinical lecturer in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, University Malaya with a special interest in endodontics. She has headed the Endodontic module for undergraduate teaching from 2014 until 2020. She is currently the Postgraduate Endodontic Module Coordinator and a member of curriculum development for the preparation for the Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Restorative Dentistry and Endodontology programmes by University Malaya. Dr Hayati is also actively involved in various research and grant collaborations with National Sports Centre and CryoCord as well as within the industry. She is also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England for the Restorative Specialty Membership Examination (RSME) since May 2021.

DR. ADIL BIN JOHAN

ADIL Johan is Deputy Executive Director (Academic and Student Affairs) at the Asia-Europe Institute and senior lecturer at the Faculty of Creative Arts, Universiti Malaya (UM). His research on music and popular culture considers interculturalism, cosmopolitanism, intimacy, affect and gender, focussing on the Malay world and Southeast Asia. He is author of Cosmopolitan Intimacies, a book on Independence-era Malay film music (NUS Press, 2018) and is co-editor of Made in Nusantara: Studies in popular music (Routledge, 2021). He has also published articles in the Journal of Intercultural Studies (2019); Kajian Malaysia (2019); JATI-Journal of Southeast Asian Studies (2022), Indonesia and the Malay World (2023) and Popular Music and Society (2025). He is currently the elected Chair for the Southeast Asian branch for the International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM-SEA). ADIL Johan ialah Timbalan Pengarah Eksekutif (Akademik dan Hal Ehwal Pelajar) di Institut Asia-Eropah dan pensyarah kanan di Fakulti Seni Kreatif, Universiti Malaya (UM). Kajiannya mengenai muzik dan budaya popular mempertimbangkan antara budaya, kosmopolitanisme, keintiman, pengaruh dan jantina, memfokuskan kepada alam Melayu dan Asia Tenggara. Beliau adalah pengarang Cosmopolitan Intimacies, sebuah buku mengenai muzik filem Melayu era Kemerdekaan (NUS Press, 2018) dan merupakan penyunting bersama buku Made in Nusantara: Studies in popular music (Routledge, 2021). Beliau juga telah menerbitkan artikel dalam Journal of Intercultural Studies (2019); Kajian Malaysia (2019); JATI-Journal of Southeast Asian Studies (2022), Indonesia and the Malay World (2023) dan Muzik dan Popular Music and Society (2025). Beliau kini merupakan Pengerusi yang dipilih untuk cawangan Asia Tenggara bagi International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM-SEA).
