I am a Family Medicine Specialist who has a deep interest in research related to hypertension, respiratory diseases in primary care, and telemedicine. I am commited to the field of hypertension is evident through my active involvement in various activities and societies related to hypertension. I have a remarkable track record of active participation and leadership roles in organizations, which reflects my dedication to advancing the field. Since 2022, I served as a Council Member of the Malaysian Society of Hypertension (MSH), vice president of the Malaysian Society for World Action on Salt, Sugar, and Health (MyWASSH) since 2024. One of my most significant achievements is my active participation in organizing hypertension-related screening campaigns, particularly in collaboration with the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) and the May Measurement Month (MMM). I had been actively involved in hypertension screening campaigns in my hospital since 2015. I serve as the key leader for the Asthma Right Care Initiatives, launched by the International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG), which focuses on promoting appropriate asthma management by addressing SABA overreliance in our setting. Additionally, I lead the teleconsultation services in my clinic, where we have implemented quality improvement projects to ensure continuous enhancement of our overall services.
show more »At Universiti Malaya, Dr. Mohd Norbayusri Baharudin serves as a senior lecturer in the Department of Social Administration and Justice. His primary areas of specialization encompass prison and correctional administration, the rehabilitation and treatment of offenders, community corrections, group-based approaches to therapeutic communities, substance abuse counseling, quantitative research methods, and covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM). He has received advanced training at Daytop Village Inc. in New York, USA, focusing on drug addiction treatment, as well as at the Brush Farm Corrective Services Academy in New South Wales, Australia, specializing in correctional administration. Prior to his academic career, he dedicated two decades to the Malaysian Prisons Department, where he served as a prison officer, rehabilitation officer, and policymaker. Recently, Dr. Norbayusri has contributed to media discussions on the Pelaksanaan Akta Tahanan Rumah (Implementation of the House Detention Act). He founded the hybrid architectural design firm [SA]2 or Sarly Adre Sarkum Architecture Sdn Bhd which combines cutting edge architectural design solutions with extensive researched based explorative approach to solve challenging integrated design problems. The firm has won several international competitions and represented the country in several in world class exhibitions. He is currently a Past President on Council in the Malaysia Green Building Council which is under the auspices of the World Green Building Council. He was also the Deputy President of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (The Malaysian Institute of Architects) for 2017-2019. He currently is a GBI facilitator, previously was one of the accreditation panel for the GBI Green Rating Tool. He was the editor in chief for ‘Architecture Malaysia’ magazine which is the premier architecture journal for the Malaysian Institute of Architects. He holds 2 degrees in architecture, one from the University of Liverpool UK and the other from University of Science Malaysia. Currently he is the academic Advisor to the Masters of Green Architecture in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). UM has also appointed him as Assoc. Prof. (Industry) for the University. Currently he is managing and coordinating the 3 niche labs for the final year for the UM Master of Architecture Programme namely, Green & Sustainable Architecture Lab (GSAL), Urban & Community Architecture Lab (UCAL) and Heritage & Conservation Architecture Lab (HCAL).
