Tunku Kamarul Zaman (or Prof. TK as he is commonly known) is The Professor of Orthopaedics & Regenerative Medicine in University of Malaya (UM) with special interest in upper limb and microsurgery. He is considered the nation’s foremost expert in musculoskeletal basic sciences and research related to Orthopaedic Regenerative Medicine.  He obtained his medical degree (M.D.) from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 1998. He entered the Masters of Orthopaedics speciality training program i.e. M.S.(Ortho), in UM (2000) and was later inducted as a lecturer in the same university upon completing his training in 2004. He also obtained a diploma in tissue banking from National University of Singapore in 2003 during his surgical training. Upon completing his sub-speciality rotations locally, he was awarded a national scholarship to pursue his sub-specialty training in the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen hospitals from 2006 till 2010. During that period, he also obtained a PhD degree from The University of Liverpool. He is an accomplished academician and researcher; with over 220 peer-reviewed articles in many impact factored journals and has been invited to present the research groups' discoveries in numerous international scientific meetings (Citations: >7,600; H-index=50). He founded and still heads the tissue engineering group, a division under The National Orthopaedic Centre for Research and Learning (NOCERAL), supervising around 25 research students at any given time. In addition to doing clinical work and research, he is also heavily involved in administrative duties. His is at present the Executive Director for UM’s Center for Continuous Education (UMCCED), appointed since October 2024. His previous executive administrative duties include being the Director (CEO) of University of Malaya Medical Centre (2015-2020), Deputy dean of research for faculty of medicine (2012-2014), Acting dean for faculty of medicine (2014), Deputy director (clinical) for UMMC (2014-2015), and Director for the Clinical Investigative Centre in UMMC (an internationally award winning centre that conducts over 200 clinical trials a year; 2013-2014). He was also head-hunted to develop Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Bertam Campus in Penang, and established USM Medical Center there during his secondment (2021-2024). Other notable previous appointments include the Chairman of the Public University Hospital Consortium (KHUAM) and advisor on matters relating to the Healthcare for the Ministry of Higher Education (2018-2021). Prof. TK shares his experience and expertise by being a member of several Executive Boards in private university hospitals and international societies. He sits in many national level committees, national research grant review committee, a member of many international societies, have been invited to speak in several academic subjects in many international meetings and, a reviewer and editor/editor-in-chief to a number of academic journals. Due to his vast experience in various areas, he is a recognized trainer for not only Orthopaedics and Research, but also in management, leadership and strategic planning. As an academician, Prof. TK has held the title of Professor from University of Malaya since 2011 at the age of 38. He is/has been nominated and appointed as adjunct and honorary professors in several local and international universities; as well as council members and expert panellist in several organizations such as the prestigious Academy of Science in Malaysia and other Government agencies.

Dr. Ziad Baydoun, born in 1987 in Damascus, Syria, is a renowned academic and researcher specializing in architecture and built environment, with a particular focus on Islamic calligraphy placement in architecture. Dr. Baydoun pursued a degree in Interior Architecture at Damascus University, graduating with excellent marks in 2010. Following his graduation, he worked as a freelancer in the interior design field for two years before joining his father in large restoration projects of Al Azem and gazali Palaces. In 2012, Dr. Baydoun moved to Malaysia to further his education and enhance his artistic talents in 3D design and Arabic cultural arts, particularly the intricate Syrian traditional 'Ajami art. He completed his Master's degree at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2016. Following his Master's, he managed Damascene Art Sdn Bhd, an innovative interior design company specializing in renovation, Islamic art conservation, and creative multimedia projects, reflecting his father's company, Baydoun Art, in Syria. Dr. Baydoun earned his Ph.D. from IIUM in 2022, with a specialization in Islamic architecture. His research on virtual reality (VR) implementation for heritage preservation is widely recognized, and he has published numerous articles in international indexed journals. His expertise spans various 3D technologies and Autodesk software, including Revit, 3D Max, AutoCAD, and Lumion, as well as traditional handmade art. Currently, Dr. Baydoun is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya, where he continues to inspire and mentor students in architecture and interior design. His professional journey has also seen him as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Multimedia University and a guest lecturer at IIUM. Dr. Firdaus Hariri is a Professor and senior consultant in oral maxillofacial surgery at University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry Universiti Malaya and University of Malaya Specialist Centre. He obtained both his dental and medical degrees from Universiti Malaya (UM) and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training with distinction at Queen Mary Hospital and Prince Philip Dental Hospital, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He later had his craniofacial attachments at various established craniofacial centres abroad and also obtained his Master of Science in Molecular Medicine from International Medical University (IMU). In addition to routine maxillofacial surgical practices such as orthognathic surgery, trauma and oral implantology, his subspecialty and research interests are focused on pediatric craniofacial and reconstructive surgery, tissue engineering in particular distraction osteogenesis technique, bone regeneration for oral rehabilitation and the field of neurotrauma. He has more than 60 academic publications and is actively involved in national and international scientific conferences, consultations and organizations. He is one of the founding members and currently the lead coordinator for the multidisciplinary craniofacial clinic in UMMC, the team leader for Oro-Craniomaxillofacial Research and Surgical (OCReS) group at the Faculty of Dentistry UM, subspecialty coordinator for the Fellowship in Advanced Craniomaxillofacial Surgery UM, and serves as the chairman of National Dental Specialty Education Committee (DentSEdC) for oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is also the guest editor for BMC Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as in the editorial board of Malaysian Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is passionate in music, social enterprise and humanitarian activities. Among the significant contributions in these areas are the success of Voices of Hope Charity Concert, collaboration with University of Malaya Industry and Community Engagement (ICE) office for the social enterprise initiative among single parents in marginalized community and successfully initiating the nation-wide aerosol box fabrication and distribution during COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
