Hi, I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Science and Technology Studies (STS), Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya (UM), and the Founding Director of the Universiti Malaya Sustainable Development Centre (UMSDC) since 2022. I began my academic career at UM after completing my PhD in Science and Technology Policy at SPRU, University of Sussex, in 2009. My educational background includes a BSc in Ecology from the Insitute Biological Sciences, Universiti Malaya and an MSc in Environmental Management and Policy from the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE), Lund University, Sweden. My research primarily explores the intersection of science, technology, and innovation (STI) with environmental sustainability, particularly within the context of sustainable development and the challenges faced by late-industrializing countries. Over the years, I have expanded my interdisciplinary approach to contribute to Sustainability Science, engaging in areas such as sustainability transitions, education for sustainable development, participatory watershed management, place-based citizen science, and social innovation. I am actively involved in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, integrating environmental sciences with STI policy, management, and governance. My commitment to campus sustainability dates back to my student years and continues today. From 2009 to 2013, I served as Deputy Coordinator and later Principal Coordinator of UM’s ecocampus initiative. In 2014, I became the founding Director of UMCARES, the university’s Sustainability and Community Centre at the time (now rebranded as UM's Community Engagement), and played a key role in shaping the UM Campus Sustainability Living Lab Programme during my tenure.  Within the civil society, space I was the founding principal coordinator of UM’s Water Warriors, one of the university’s pioneering greening movements and Living Lab, focusing on participatory watershed conservation. Today, I continue to contribute as an academic volunteer, working alongside dedicated colleagues and students across generations to promote environmental stewardship, within the UM campus and beyond. Additionally, I serve as an advisor to Inspirasi Kawa, a community-based environmental organization in Kuala Selangor, and Sekitar Kita, a university-based social enterprise. I am also a research associate with the social enterprise Urban Biodiversity Initiative (UBI) Beyond Malaysia, I represent UM in regional and international sustainability networks, including the ASEAN University Network on Ecological Education and Culture (AUN-EEC) and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Malaysia Chapter. Professor Dr. Loo-See Beh is Professor of HRM & Public Administration at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and formerly the Head of Department of Administrative Studies and Politics, and the Deputy Dean (International and Higher Degree), Faculty of Economics and Administration, as well as Interim Head of Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Business and Economics. She holds a PhD in Training Management, M.A. in Political Science, and B.A. (Hons.) in History and Political Science. Her research interests includes public administration, innovation, smart city development, public policy, human resource management, organizational behaviour, governance, education, political science, and socio-political/cultural studies. She is also a Research Fellow and HRD Thought Leader with the National Human Resources Centre (HRD Corp), Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia since 2020. She has been awarded the 2017 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence - Outstanding Paper (Highly Commended) in Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, (Emerald) and also Best Paper Award for an article “Charting Ethics in Asia Pacific HRM; Does the East meet West Ethically?” in Review of Public Personnel Administration & ASPA in 2014. She has also been recognized as an Outstanding Contributor as a Reviewer by Elsevier in 2017. She sits on several committees and coordinators of several programs, collaborative research projects and seminars locally and abroad, resource person and as associate member with a number of local and international institutions including Malaysian Qualifications Agency; Malaysian Association of American Studies; Global Studies Association, UK; International Political Science Association Research Committee on SOG, USA;  American Society for Public Administration, USA; Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (Japan; Singapore).  She has held the position of research and visiting appointments at  Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, Griffith University, Australia, Yonsei University, Korea, and Sunway University, Malaysia. She has published widely and sits on the editorial board of several international peer-reviewed journals including serving as external examiners for theses, programs, and staff promotions in other universities as well as reviewers for many reputable high-ranked international journals and books. Dr. Lim is a Consultant Neurologist and Professor at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, where he runs a very busy government clinic and private practice seeing many patients (around 70 every week) with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other Movement Disorders, including complicated cases requiring advanced treatments such as deep brain stimulation. Dr. Lim earned his medical and research doctorate degrees from the University of Melbourne and was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians after completing advanced training in adult Internal Medicine and Neurology in Melbourne. Dr. Lim trained in general neurology and subspecialized in Parkinson’s & Movement Disorders, at world-renowned centres in Melbourne and Toronto (the latter supported by the Edmond J. Safra Fellowship, under Prof. Anthony Lang). He has published widely in the field of Movement Disorders (Parkinson's as well as a variety of rarer movement disorders), with approx. 150 peer-reviewed journal papers and book chapters, including first-author publications in Lancet Neurology, Archives of Neurology/JAMA Neurology, Movement Disorders, etc. and co-authorship in journals such as Nature Genetics, Nature Reviews Neurology, Annals of Neurology, and Brain (approx. 10K citations, h-index 44). He is on several Editorial Boards including Parkinsonism & Related Disorders and Neurotorium, and is an Associate Editor for Nature Partner Journal (npj) Parkinson's Disease and Neurology Asia (for several years previously also for Science Advances), and Guest Editor for the Journal of Parkinson's Disease. Dr. Lim is the current Chair of the Asian-Oceanian section of the International Parkinson & Movement Disorder Society (MDS) (which has approx. 3.5K members, from the Clinical and Basic science communities), and serves on several MDS Committees/Task Forces (for Evidence-Based Medicine; Progressive Supranuclear Palsy; Movement Disorders in Asia; Palliative Care; etc.). He is a Steering Committee member, and Co-Lead of the Under-Represented Populations Working Group, of the Global Parkinson's Genetics Program (GP2). He is a holder and/or Reviewer of grants for PD-related funding organisations such as the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), and the United Kingdom's National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and Cure Parkinspn's Trust (CPT). With a strong commitment to teaching/training, Dr. Lim has organized numerous teaching courses on Parkinson’s & Movement Disorders, and delivered and/or participated in hundreds of international-level lectures and expert panels throughout Asia-Oceania, North America, and Europe. These have often been under the auspices of the MDS, as MDS Visiting Professor, MDS Ambassador, or MDS Virtual Professor. As a versatile speaker with broad-ranging expertise, he has been invited to give numerous Plenary Lectures, including at the flagship MDS Annual Congress (Toronto 2011, Dublin 2012, Nice 2019, Philadelphia/Virtual 2020, Copenhagen 2023, Honolulu 2025) and at the World Parkinson's Congress (Kyoto 2019). In 2025, together with Profs. Nobutaka Hattori and Pramod Pal, he Chaired a highly successful 9th Asian & Oceanian Parkinson's & Movement Disorders Congress (AOPMC) in Tokyo. He has provided movement disorder fellowship/observership training to neurologists from multiple underserved countries, including Indonesia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, India, the Philippines, and Nigeria, often under the auspices of the MDS (Visiting Trainee Grants or Centre-to-Centre Programs). Dr. Lim is a Medical Advisor to the Malaysian Parkinson’s Disease Association, and a founding member (and Immediate-Past Chair) of the Malaysian Movement Disorder Council. He was elected as a Fellow of the Malaysian Academy of Sciences in 2017. In recognition of his leadership in the Movement Disorders field, he was invited to be an Expert Panelist/Consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2020 to address global policy, implementation and research related to PD. Dr. Lim's research interests are multi-dimensional, with a focus on the following areas: (i) PD (particularly genetics and genotype-phenotype correlations; evidence-based medicine/clinical trials; non-motor features including gastrointestinal aspects; comorbidities; patient-centred care; and rating scales/disease staging); (ii) Parkinson-plus syndromes and other miscellaneous/"orphan" movement disorders, including progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
