ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NOR ANIZA BINTI ABDULLAH

NOR ANIZA ABDULLAH is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), University of Malaya, Malaysia. She graduated with Bachelor degree (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Malaya. (UM)   She has a Master degree in Interactive Multimedia from the Westminster University, London. She obtained her PhD degree in Computer Science from the Southampton University, United Kingdom in 2006. She was the Deputy Dean of the Equitable Society Research Cluster, UM from year 2016 until 2018. She was the Deputy Dean of Undergraduate at FCSIT from 2011 until 2013. She was the Head of the Multimedia Unit of FCSIT from 1999 until 2003, and from 2007 until 2011. She was the Lead Internal Auditor to Faculty of Engineering, UM, during the university's first internal auditing exercise for MS ISO 9001:2000, in the year 2002. She was the Quality Manager for FCSIT from 2012 to 2013. She was the Chairperson for the UM Student Council Selection Audit Committee in 2012. In year 2012-2013 she led a committee to study and enhance the quality of teaching of programming courses at the faculty. She received the UM Excellence Service Awards in year 2001 and year 2013.  Her research interests include personalized learning, multimedia retrieval, multimedia recommender system, machine learning/deep learning, sentiment analysis, mobile crowdsourcing, augmented reality, image processing, and medical imaging informatics. She has authored or co-authored 58 publications in the Web of Science (WOS) with WOS h-index 10, Scopus h-index 13, and Google Scholar h-index-19. Most of her WOS journal publications are in tier-1 and tier-2. DR. DOROTHY DEWITT

Dr. Dorothy DeWitt is currently an Associate Researcher and a retired Associate Professor in the Curriculum and Instructional Technology Department, University Malaya. She is also an Adjunt Professor at Open University Malaysia. She is an alumnus of the Endeavour Executive Fellowship from the government of Australia. She was formerly with the Educational Technology Division (ETD), Ministry of Education, Malaysia, where she was involved in the Smart School Pilot Project in change management and managing the development of digital materials during the project. In addition, she was involved in the research, management and promotion of innovation in instruction. Her current interests are in instructional design, new pedagogies and technologies for knowledge management, collaborative mobile learning and problem solving. Her publications include academic articles in ISI-ranked publications and journals such as Journal of Educational Technology and Society (ETS), Eurasian Journal of Mathematics, Science and Educational Technology (EJMSET), and Educational Technology Research & Development (ETR&D), and many other Scopus-ranked publications. She has published books on technology-enhanced learning, blended learning, problem-solving for transformative learning, collaborative mobile learning and developmental research. She has been involved in research in collaborative and mobile learning since 2007, and is looking at designs of instructional systems that encourage problem-solving, communication and collaboration using cognitive tools and technologies for schools, higher education and training. As principal investigator, she has been awarded external grants (FRGS) as well as internal grants (RU grant and UMRG) in projects related to technology and problem-solving for instruction. She has also been involved as co-researcher in many other projects related to technology use. Her PhD thesis explored the possibility of collaborative learning using mobile technologies for a mobile learner to enable learning to occur anywhere and at any time; using the collaborative mLearning framework.  She was appointed as consultant in projects related to curriculum acceptance, 21st century learning, and has been involved in training programs for technology pedagogical content knowledge at Academic Enhancement & Leadership Development Centre, University Malaya, as well as many workshops and training programs in 21st century learning, blended learning and online pedagogies, both locally and internationally. Recently, she has expanded her expertise to mixed realities in education.  She has won awards in teaching innovations both at the national and international level. Her team won the Best Immersive Learning Showcase at iLRN2020 (International). She was awarded the University Malaya Excellence Award for Innovative E-Learning in 2018 and is also a reviewer and editorial board member of several ISI journals, and chief editor of TEMPAWAN, a Malaysian peer-reviewed research journal.

DR. WAN SAFWANI BINTI WAN KAMARUL ZAMAN

  Dr Wan Safwani Binti Wan Kamarul Zaman is currently a senior lecturer at the Department of Pharmaceutical Life Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Malaya. She received Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom in 2003. After which she returned to Malaysia to complete the pharmacy provisional training at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) from 2004 to 2005, as per requirement of the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia. She became a registered pharmacist in August 2005. In 2006, she received her MSc in Immunopharmacology, also from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom. In 2008, she was awarded the National Science Fellowship (NSF) from the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysia allowing her to pursue and complete her PhD in 2012 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia). She was also awarded the Hadiah Khalid Kadir for best postgraduate student in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia during the graduation ceremony.   Dr Wan Safwani has contributed substantially in terms of publication and as a reviewer for various journals. Her research interest is in stem cells technology, regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. She has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles including articles published in Scientific Reports, American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology and PLOS One. She currently has a h-index of 19 with more than 1000 citations. She also supervises postgraduate students, both PhDs and Masters working on various collaborative projects involving stem cell biology, sustainable materials for tissue engineering, non-invasive cellular monitoring system and machine learning application in stem cell research. She is a member of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS) and currently serves as the President of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society of Malaysia (TESMA). Outside of research and teaching, she is the co-Founder of the Let's Go to Mummies Lab program, which aims to promote STEM education to young children as part of community outreach program.
