Dr Lily Azura Shoaib is a head specialist and Associate Professor in Paediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. She earned her Master of Clinical Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry from the University of Edinburgh in 2008 and completed her Bachelor in Dental Surgery at Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 2000. Her research focuses on cariology, paediatric special care dentistry, oral health quality of life, and dental education, emphasising e-learning and instructional strategies. She is renowned for her paediatric dentistry expertise and commitment to improving dental education and patient care. As an educator, she mentors and guides aspiring dental professionals for the future of dentistry in Malaysia. Her contributions and dedication have earned her widespread respect and recognition in the dental community.

Vilashini Somiah is an anthropologist who is a senior lecturer at the Gender Studies Programme at Universiti Malaya. She received her PhD from the National University of Singapore, an MA from Ohio University, an MRes from Universiti Malaya and a BA from the Universiti Malaya. She maintains a keen interest for underrepresented narratives of women, migrants and Borneans living in the interiors. She is the co-editor of “Sabah From the Ground: The 2020 Elections and the Politics of Survival (SIRD/ISEAS, 2021), and her first book, “Irregular Migrants and the Sea at the Borders of Sabah, Malaysia: Pelagic Alliance'' with Palgrave Macmillan (TBC 2022). Outside of academia, she writes ethnographic articles on the local socio-political landscape.

As a clinical pharmacist, researcher, and lecturer, my career has been driven by a commitment to improving patient care through translational research and education. With a strong foundation in managing critically ill patients, particularly in infectious diseases, I developed a deep interest in pharmacokinetics and its role in optimizing drug therapy. This passion led me to bridge clinical practice with research, ensuring that scientific advancements translate into real-world benefits for patients. Teaching became a natural extension of this mission, allowing me to shape future pharmacists and researchers with a focus on evidence-based practice and patient-centered care. Today, I continue to integrate clinical expertise, research innovation, and education to advance pharmacy practice and improve health outcomes.
