Nurhamizah Hashim obtained her Bachelor's degree in Malay Literature and a Master's degree in Malay Studies from the University of Malaya (UM) in 2006 and 2008 respectively. Briefly served as Assistant Language Planning Officer at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Kuala Lumpur before pursuing and obtained her Ph.D in Literature Modern Malay (Children's and Adolescent Literature) at the Academy of Malay Studies, Universiti Malaya (UM) in 2015.

Throughout years of studies as well as in the field of academic and research, areas of interests are mostly related with Children's literature, Youth adult Literature, Literary Criticism, Drama Literature, Management and Marketing of Literature, Teaching Malay Literature.
