Dr Noorasyikin Shamsuddin is a dedicated pharmacy academic and researcher in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacy Practice, University of Malaya (UM), where she has served since 2005. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a PhD in Pharmacy from Universiti Teknologi MARA.
Her research focuses on medication-use behaviour and patient medication decision-making, with a particular interest in understanding how patients’ beliefs, experiences, perceptions, emotions, social influences, and access to health information shape their decisions about medicines and other health interventions. Her research is grounded in qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, with the aim of understanding medication-use behaviour from the patient’s perspective and translating these insights into more patient-centred pharmacy practice and interventions.
