ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. AHMAD FARID BIN ABU BAKAR

Dr. Ahmad Farid received a PhD in Environmental Geology from University of Malaya, MSc and BSc in Applied Geology from UM. He is a certified Professional Geologist (P.Geol.) with the Board of Geologists Malaysia. He is a council member of Institute of Geology Malaysia and an active member of Geological Society of Malaysia. Dr. Ahmad Farid teaches undergraduate courses in Geology and Environmental Geology, as well as supervise postgraduate many MSc and Phd students. He is a coordinator for Industrial Relation and Attachment, Alumni and Community Engagement (SULAM) Course in Department of Geology, UM. His current research interests are focused on environmental impact of REE extraction, decarbonization and carbon capture using geological materials and metals pollution assessment & remediation in hydrosphere and pedosphere. He has authored over 20 publications in Web of Science Index-journals, received more than 270 citations with H-index of 10. Dr Ahmad Farid and his team is in close collaboration with local and international researchers, who share a common aim of translating new knowledge into scientific application and applied geological practice. He is also a recipient of awards such as the EAGER award from Coordinating Committee For Geoscience Programmes In East And Southeast Asia (CCOP) and Excellence Service Award from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

ASSOCIATE PROF. IR. DR. AHMAD KHAIRI BIN ABDUL WAHAB

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Khairi ABDUL-WAHAB, Ph.D, MIET, C.Eng. (UK) is currently stationed at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. He started his career at the University of Malaya from 1999 as a Research Assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering after graduated from Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom in Electrical Electronics Engineering. He has completed his Master Engineering Science Degree's research (M.Eng.Sc.) in the application of neural network as an intelligent process controller for a chemical reactor.Then, he continued his research in Ph.D. in Genetic Algorithm, Fuzzy Logic, and Neurofuzzy in controlling the temperature of a Partially Simulated Exothermic Chemical Reactor (PARS-EX) in the Department of Chemical Engineering and completed his Ph.D. in 2010. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Khairi has initially started his career as a lecturer in 2006 in the Department of Electrical Engineering and currently is serving the Department of Biomedical Engineering as an Associate Professor. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Khairi was the Principle Investigator for a High Impact Research, Cycle 2, 2 subprogram projects leader for University Malaya Research Grant (UMRG) projects, and 1 subprogram in Faculty of Engineering Research Grant. His current research interest are in biomedical modelling and control system, bio-instrumentation, medical devices, and artificial intelligence.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. HIDAYAH BINTI MOHD FADZIL

Hidayah Mohd Fadzil is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Faculty of Education. She obtained her Science with Education degree from the University of Malaya, in 2008 and pursued her doctoral study under the fast-track program. She received her fellowship, The Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (Sylff) from Nippon Foundation, Japan, for her doctoral degree in Science Education at the University of Malaya and graduated in 2014. She encourages creativity and exploration in each student. Engaging students in scientific discussions and maintaining strong bonds with them are her priorities. Hidayah's research interests include science practical work, scientist-teacher-student partnership, transition in science from primary to secondary school, 21st-century learning skills in science and biology, and STEM education. She has been involved in and headed several researches, particularly in the area of science education. In 2018, she received an international grant (Early Career Academic Grant) from the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). She has authored and co-authored several books and ISI/SCOPUS-indexed articles in the area of science education.  She has also served as an Editorial Board Member for the Indonesia Journal of Biology Education, Editorial Advisory (Asia Region) for Indonesian Journal of Science and Education, Editorial Advisor for Biosfer Biology Education Journal, Editorial Board for Asia Pacific Journal of Educators and Education (SCOPUS), Editorial Member for International Journal of Modern Education, Editorial Review Board for Shanlax International Journal and Editor of Malaysia Online Journal of Educational Sciences (MOJES).
