Professor Dr Wan Nurazreena Wan Hassan is a Senior Consultant Orthodontist at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, whose scholarship bridges digital dentistry with outcomes science in orthodontics. She is a subject-matter expert in Orthodontic-related quality of life (psychometrics as applied to malocclusion), treatment need, and patient-centred outcomes. Her leadership in dental education is demonstrated through pivotal roles as Deputy Dean (Postgraduate), previously Deputy Dean (Undergraduate) and Head of Department (cum Year 5 Leader, BDS), and Coordinator of the Orthodontic Postgraduate Programme, where she has led curriculum design and quality, assessment reform, and learner outcomes. Clinically, she integrates UK training (Cardiff, Wales) with a mini-preceptorship in Korea and a mini-residency in Japan to manage complex orthodontic cases, including cleft and craniofacial care, orthognathic surgery pathways, and obstructive sleep apnoea, translating multi-country best practices into Malaysian settings. Nationally, she serves on the Dental Specialist Evaluation Committee (DSEC) of the Malaysian Dental Council and contributes to evidence-based care, including the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) and guidelines in orthodontics. Internationally, she is an Examiner (MOrth Part II and MFDS) for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Her academic influence includes an H-index of 11 (Web of Science) and 320 citations. She continues to expand her research through supervision of more than 23 postgraduates (9 completed PhD/Clinical Doctorate/Clinical Masters; 5 completed masters; 6 ongoing PhD/Clinical Doctorate; 3 ongoing masters) and 15 undergraduate elective project pairs, leads competitive grants, and publishes widely on patient-centred outcomes, digital workflows, quality measurement, and dental education.
show more »Dr. Kamisah Ismail is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Malaya. Her primary research interests lie in Management Accounting and Control Systems, reflecting a strong integration of academic rigor and practical relevance. Before joining academia, Dr. Kamisah gained extensive professional experience in various private-sector organizations, where she was involved in a wide range of accounting and financial management roles. This industrial background continues to enrich her teaching, particularly in Management Accounting and the Integrated Case Study course, where she emphasizes the practical application of theoretical concepts. Dr. Kamisah has published her research in several reputable international journals, including those indexed in Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus. She is currently serving as the Programme Coordinator for the Bachelor in Accounting programme at the Universiti Malaya, where she plays a pivotal role in academic leadership and curriculum development. A Chartered Accountant and member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Dr. Kamisah has been appointed as a Council Member of MIA since April 2023. In this capacity, she actively contributes to the profession’s governance and development through her service on both the Disciplinary Committee and the Examination Committee of the Institute.
show more »She graduated BDS (Malaya) 1991, obtained Fellowship in Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of England (1998) after an Oral Maxillofacial Residency; trained at University of Hong Kong, obtained MOrth (Hong Kong) 2005, MOrth, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (2006), and FDS RCSEd (2015). She served at Universiti Malaya from 2000, currently Head of AOBRRG research group and past Head of Department of Paediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics for 4 years. She has 21 ISI-indexed and 2 Scopus publications. Having supervised 14 postgraduate and 13 undergraduate research projects to completion, with 7 on-going research projects (3 international), her research scope includes growth modification with functional appliances, dentofacial deformities, clear aligners, sleep apnea, and stem cell. She has various national and international industrial and external research group collaborations. She reviews for 9 international ISI journals and 4 national journals, is panel for Malaysian Dental Council, Professional Qualifying Examination and has reviewed for National Specialist Registration for Orthodontic specialists. She is part of the UMRG grant panel review. She is external examiner for Royal Colleges of England and Glasgow, MOrth Part II and MFDS, Master and PhD postgraduate programs at IIUM, UiTM, Universiti Malaya.
