Dr Sarinder was awarded a Bachelor of Computer Science in 2000 and a Master in Computer Science in 2002 from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University Malaya (UM). She then completed her Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at the Faculty of Science, University of Malaya in 2007. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the same department. Dr. Sarinder has been very active in teaching, supervision, publication, research, and administration. She has taught courses such as Introduction to Database Systems, Advanced Database and Big Data, Programming in Bioinformatics, Data Analytics in Biology, Algorithms and Tools in Bioinformatics, and Computing at Master and undergraduate levels. She is also the Principal Investigator of the Data Science & Bioinformatics Laboratory at UM which has a team of both local and international collaborators from the University Malaya Medical Centre, UM Cancer Institute, Monash University Malaya, University of Cambridge, and the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Sarinder’s main research interest is managing, representing, and analyzing scientific data using computational tools and techniques. Her contribution towards these projects is mostly in building digital systems using visual analytics, databases, and data science techniques. Currently, she is engaged in a project on Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), mainly in building the Breast Cancer Digital Ecosystem using scientifically driven clinical informatics solutions for efficient clinical workflow. Dr Sarinder is also working with genome scientists from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan to develop a framework for finding novel therapeutics for metastatic cancer using bioinformatics tools and algorithms.  Dr Sarinder is on the Editorial Board of BMC Bioinformatics, BMC Medical Informatics, and Decision Making and an Associate Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Science (MJS). She was also the chair of the International Symposium on Biomedical Data Infrastructure 2013 and 4th Data Analytics in Biomedicine Workshop (DAB 2013) organized by IEEE. Dr Sarinder was also a Visiting Scholar at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge, UK, and a Visiting Professor and External Examiner for the Bachelor of Bioinformatics (Hons) Program at Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia. She is on the MQA Panel of Assessors for Multimedia University and International Medical University Malaysia.  Dr Sarinder is an exco-member of Asia Pacific Bioinformatics Network and an auditor for the Malaysian Society of Bioinformatics. She has recently been appointed as a Consultant by Sigma Teguh Sdn Bhd for Big Data and Machine Learning Algorithms projects. Nor Hazrul bin Mohd. Salleh adalah anak kelahiran negeri Kelantan. Dilahirkan pada 23 Mac 1971 di Kg. Manek Urai, Kuala Krai, Kelantan. Mendapat pendidikan awal di SK Alor Bakat dari tahun 1978-1983. Kemudian menyambung pengajian ke SMKA Falahiah, Pasir Pekan, Kelantan dari tahun 1984-1987. Selepas itu, meneruskan pengajian peringkat menengah di Kolej Islam Kelang dari 1987-1989. Seterusnya melanjutkan pelajaran ke Universiti Hasan II, Mohammedia, Morocco pada tahun 1989-1991. Kemudian berpindah ke Universiti Mohamed V, Rabat, Morocco dari tahun 1991-1995 dan memperoleh Ijazah Sarjana Muda Bahasa dan Kesusasteraan Arab (pengkhususan Sastera Arab). Mendapat Diploma Pendidikan (Bahasa Arab/Pendidikan Islam) daripada Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) pada tahun 1997. Seterusnya menyambung pelajaran peringkat Sarjana di Universiti Malaya dan dianugerahkan ijazah Sarjana Pengajian Bahasa Moden (MMLS-Master of Modern Language Studies) pengkhususan Fonetik Arab pada tahun 2010. Dianugerahkan Ijazah Doktor Falsafah (Ph.D Edu) bidang Pendidikan (Teaching Arabic to non-Arabic Speakers) daripada Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) pada tahun 2017. Pernah berkhidmat sebagai guru di sekolah-sekolah Yayasan Islam Kelantan (YIK) tahun 1996-1998. Kemudian bertugas sebagai Pensyarah/Pegawai Latihan di Pusat Bahasa Arab (PBA), YIK dari tahun 1999-2003. Dilantik sebagai Guru Bahasa di Akademi Pengajian Islam, Universiti Malaya Nilam Puri, Kelantan (APIUMNP) mulai 2003 dan sekarang menyandang jawatan Guru Bahasa Kanan sejak 17 Mei 2010. Diamanahkan tanggungjawab sebagai Penyelaras Bahasa Arab APIUMNP mulai 16 September 2006 hingga 2011. Dilantik sebagai Penyelaras Program Khas Bahasa Arab (PKBA) dari 02 Jun 2022 hingga sekarang. Diamanahkan juga sebagai Pengetua Kolej Kediaman Nilam  Puri (sekarang Kolej Kediaman UMEC Bachok) mulai 1 Ogos 2010 hingga sekarang.

  Chen Chen is a Professor at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya. She is also the Founder and CTO of IOMInsight, a business pod under UMI Sdn Bhd focused on developing Economic System modeling for scenario analyses involving 62 countries and 35 economic sectors. With over 9 years of experience in consultancy work with government and private agencies, such as PwC, ILO, EPU (currently known as the Ministry of Economy), MOHR (currently known as KESUMA),MASTIC, CIDB, SOSCO, WorldBank, JPAL, PE Research Sdn Bhd and etc), she also actively involved in research collaboration work with the University of Pennsylvania, World Bank,J-PAL, Singapore Food Agency and local/international Universities/Institutions. She has contributed to research and book publications, facilitate learning and programme development, and foster professional growth together with the stakeholders of the University.
