Dr. Sabri Sulaiman is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. A seasoned academic, researcher, and consultant, Dr. Sabri brings experience in advancing child and family welfare, policy, intervention, and rights-based approaches to social justice across local and global contexts. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Administration and Justice, a Master’s in Social Intervention, and a PhD in Social Services, all from the University of Malaya (UM). His academic journey has been marked by a consistent commitment to vulnerable and marginalised populations, with his Master’s thesis focusing on Social Deprivation and the Social Well-being of Malaysian Children, and his PhD research contributing to the development of a Community-Based Social Care Model for Street-Connected Children. Dr. Sabri has collaborated with and consulted for government agencies, including the National Population and Family Development Board (NPFDB) or LPPKN. Dr. Sabri's areas of interest focus on child and family policy and welfare, Social Care, Social Intervention, Social Policy, Social Rights, Social Justice, and Social Protection. Using mixed methods, his research and primary work focus on:  Understanding and addressing the complex, intersecting needs and global challenges faced by children and families especially those in vulnerable and marginalised situations including children and families affected by migration, poverty, those in conflict with the law, children trapped in the worst forms of child labour and trafficking, persons with disabilities (PWDs), the homeless, undocumented and stateless, the elderly, children and families living in poverty, as well as children and families with multiple complex needs. Strengthening governance, social care systems, social protection and welfare policies to drive meaningful social change and ensure equitable access to essential services, especially for vulnerable and marginalised groups. Combating at-risk behaviours, violence, health and education inequality faced by vulnerable children and families through evidence-based interventions and policies that prioritise child and family well-being. Promoting inclusive, rights-based approaches to social justice and rights, ensuring that marginalised communities receive the care, protection, and opportunities they deserve. Evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of policies and intervention frameworks to foster accountability, sustainability, and continuous improvement in social care and policy systems. Developing innovative, evidence-driven strategies to fortify support networks for children and families, empowering them to thrive despite adversity. Advocating for systemic change to safeguard the rights, justice, and well-being of vulnerable populations, tackling behavioural, social, and structural challenges with urgency and commitment. Dr Sabri welcomes expressions of interest and collaboration on any of the following areas.  Beyond academia, he is actively involved in applied research, collaboration and consultancy, particularly with ministries, government agencies, international organisations, and marginalised communities. His work reflects a deep commitment to addressing societal challenges through rigorous research, practical interventions, and impactful intervention and policy development. He is currently leading several major research initiatives, including "A Study on Risk Behaviours in At-Risk Adolescents in Malaysia" and "Creating Inclusive Digital Education for Students with Disabilities in Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia." He is also authoring two forthcoming books, namely "Social Care for Street Children in Malaysia" and "Justice and Care for Vulnerable Children and Families: Issues, Policy, and Intervention."  His work is internationally recognized, and he holds memberships in various professional bodies, including the Association of Southeast Asian Studies in the United Kingdom (ASEASUK), the Social Policy Association, the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, the Malaysian Association of Social Workers (MASW), and the International Sociological Association. Dr. Sabri has published widely in international and regional peer-reviewed journals, contributed chapters to scholarly books, and presented his research at numerous international conferences. He welcomes collaborative opportunities with scholars, practitioners, and institutions working to promote justice, equity, policy and social care systems that leave no one behind.

Dr Lee is an Associate Professor at the Department of Primary Care Medicine, University of Malaya, and Head of the eLearning at the Faculty of Medicine’s UMeHealth Unit. His research interests include the influence of patient values on health decisions, strategies to promote collaborative, patient-centered care in low resource settings, and developing aids and tools to support shared decision making for various preference-sensitive health conditions. He has worked across a broad range of health topics including diabetes, cancer, genetics, HIV/AIDS, indigenous health in Sabah and Sarawak, and migrant worker health. He leads several eLearning and eHealth projects including MyViP@UM (virtual patients for medical education) and VISIT (a randomized trial to elicit patient concerns through electronic medical records to improve primary care consultations). He sits on the editorial boards for BMC Primary Care Medicine and BMC Medical Education.

Claire currently teaches epidemiology, research methodology and biostatistics to both undergraduates and postgraduate students at the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. Claire has focused considerable energy on violence, older persons' health, adolescent health, and reproductive and sexual health research. Her research interests include the international public health burden of violence especially on older people, women and children; investigating the linkages between violence and mental health; the development and evaluation of interventions to address violence; research on victimization via ICT and exposure to social media such as cyberbullying, sexual and physical victimization; and the application of mixed methodology in public health research.  She is part of the University of Malaya Grand Challenge Programme; Preventing Elder Abuse and Neglect Initiative (PEACE). Her projects include determining the magnitude and social determinants of elder abuse (EAN) among community and institutionalized older adults; examine effects of educational intervention on management of EAN among healthcare providers; review effectiveness of interventions on EAN; the effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on health and well-being of older persons, and examine the effectiveness of social isolation and loneliness interventions on health outcomes.  Since 2021, Claire is a core team member of the WHO Abuse of Older People Intervention Accelerator Initiative, an international research-practice network that aims to speed up development and evaluation of effective interventions. Claire was previously appointed as a consultant and researcher by the National Population and Family Development Board, World Health Organization and UNICEF. She is also a member for the International Network for the Prevention for Elder abuse and International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Claire assessed grants for the UK National Institute for Health Research Global Health Programme, Fundamental Research Grant Scheme and the Postgraduate Research Fund. Claire is an associate editor for Asia Pacific Journal of Public Health. She has published over a hundred ISI papers including in Nature Aging, Campbell Systematic Reviews, Cochrane Systematic Reviews, Journal of Adolescent Health, Child Abuse and Neglect, Child Abuse Review, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Trauma, Abuse and Violence Journal, Journal of Elder Abuse and Neglect among others. She also co-authoured several books and book chapters including Statistical Analysis Using SPSS 3rd Edition, Age-ing Peacefully and Guide for Caring of Older Adults. Claire has also previously an invited speaker and conducted several workshops/courses such as Research Methodology, Data analysis using SPSS, Train the trainers for CE-EBM, and Evidence Based Medicine.
