Siti Hafizah is an Associate Professor with the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. She received her Ph.D. in Software Verification and is leading a research team that specializes in Software Quality, Software Testing, and Affective Computing, where her team has published more than 100 papers in top peer-reviewed conferences and journals; SCOPUS and WoS. She is a SIRIM Technical Committee for Malaysia Standard of Software & System Engineering (ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 7), Academic Programme Quality Manager, and currently holding a post as a Deputy Dean (Infrastructure) for the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology. She has graduated with 15 PhD students and more than 20 Master students. She receives private, national and internal grants for machine and deep learning research on metadata-tagging for music repositories, evolutionary software development for Malaysia's aging & retirement survey system, and natural language processing on anxiety and depression emotions with the Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia. She was a recipient of the Newton Ungku Omar Institutional Linkage Grant for Big Data research on dengue prevention with the University of Nottingham, UK. Also, she is certified with professional training in iOS mobile app development, Project Management, and Computational Thinking. Her research interests are software efficiency, fault tolerance computing, and social media markers in mental healthcare.
show more »Effariza Hanafi received the B.Eng. in Telecommunications (first class honours) from the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, S.A., Australia, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2010 and 2014, respectively. She joined the Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she is now a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering. She is actively involved in research as a principal investigator and has secured research grants from Fundamental Research Grants Scheme (MOE, Malaysia) and internal research grants in Universiti Malaya. She has published more than 40 journal papers in ISI-indexed publications and refereed conference papers. She is an active reviewer for numerous high-quality journals such as IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Access and several international conferences such as IEEE Global Communications Conference. She is currently a Senior Member for IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). She was the recipient of the MARA Scholarship for undergraduate study, and the Codan Achievement Prize in 2010. She was also the recipient of Scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education and University of Malaya, Malaysia for her doctoral studies, and the best student poster presentation at the Australian Communications Theory Workshop (AusCTW) 2013. In 2015, she was the recipient of the University of Malaya Excellence Awards. She was an awardee for financial support from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference on Computer and Information Engineering (RCCIE) 2018. Her main research interests span widely across the area of Internet of Things (system integration, smart system), wireless communication (5G networks, channel characterization, cooperative and distributed communications, non-orthogonal multiple access), RF technologies (PCB fabrication, UHF RFID tag antenna) and optical communications (fiber laser and sensor).
show more »Dr. Mohd Usman Bin Mohd Junaidi has been a dedicated researcher and senior lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia, since 2016. He earned his BEng in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) in 2012, followed by a Ph.D. from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2016. In his academic role, Dr. Mohd Usman imparts knowledge across a spectrum of chemical engineering disciplines. His teaching portfolio includes undergraduate courses such as Thermodynamics, Mass Transfer, Physical and Analytical Chemistry, and Fluid Mechanics. Through these subjects, he emphasizes the integration of theoretical principles with practical applications, preparing students to tackle complex engineering challenges. Beyond his teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Mohd Usman served as the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering, UM, from January 2022 until December 2024. In this administrative capacity, he plays a pivotal role in enhancing the student experience, addressing student concerns, and fostering a supportive academic environment. Dr. Mohd Usman's research interests are centered on gas separation and purification, advanced material development, and green technology. He has contributed to the field through numerous publications in ISI-indexed journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing chemical engineering knowledge. Beyond his teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Mohd Usman is actively involved in the academic community. He has collaborated with various experts, contributing to the advancement of chemical engineering. Dr. Mohd Usman's dedication to chemical engineering is evident in his comprehensive approach to education and research. His efforts continue to contribute to the advancement of chemical engineering, benefiting both the academic community and the broader society.
