Associate Professor Dr. Norasmatul Akma Ahmad graduated from University Malaya in 2002. She served the Ministry of Health as a dental officer for four years before pursuing her specialist training in London in 2006. She obtained her Master of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics with Distinction from King’s College London in 2009 and was also awarded the Membership of Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the same year. Her research interest spans from tooth wear, prosthodontics, indigenous oral health care and dental education. She was theHead of Restorative Dentistry Department (2017-2021) and currently a member of the University Malaya Dental Education Enhancement and DevelopmentUnit (UMDEED) and serves as a Prosthodontist and Restorative Consultant in the University Malaya Specialist Centre (UMSC), University of Malaya,Malaysia. She also serves as Elected Member of the Dental Specialty Sub-Committee (DSCC) under the Malaysia Dental Council (MDC) and Elected Member of the Dental Specialty Education Committee (DentSEdC) under the Ministry of Health, Malaysia.  

Dr. Rizal is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty, where he teaches asset maintenance, facilities and project management within the faculty's accredited programs. His publications span technical reports, book chapters, and peer-reviewed journals, focusing on workplace strategy, sustainable facility management, and people-builtenvironment interactions. He also serves as external assessor and examiner for institutions like UTM, UiTM, and Open University. Actively engaged in consultancies, editorial boards, and industry studies, he represents the university in project teams and committees such as Construction Industry Development Board, the Malaysian Association Facility Management, the National Mirror Committee (NMC) and working groups at the ISO/TC 267 standards development for facility management system. As a statistician and data scientist with a foundation in statistical inference, I have expanded my expertise in time series and forecasting, mortality modelling, spatial statistics, functional data analysis, Bayesian statistics, machine learning and multivariate statistics through extensive research. I have collaborated with physicists, biologists, computer scientists, and experts from various fields to advance multidisciplinary initiatives. I have also conducted training on applied statistics and time series. Outside academia, I am trained in Indian Carnatic music (National champion), completed Grade 8 Piano from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music, London, and play various musical instruments. I find a close relationship between being musically inclined and mathematics.
