DR. MOHD YAZED BIN AHMAD

Dr. Mohd Yazed Ahmad is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Universiti Malaya. His academic and research journey centers on interdisciplinary innovation, particularly the fusion of engineering, medical technology, and embedded systems. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on wireless passive sensing, RF-based system design, and intelligent embedded diagnostics. Dr. Yazed’s research interests span across smart healthcare systems, AI-powered sensing, and low-power wireless communication technologies. He has led and contributed to multiple impactful projects including novel modified-Hemlholtz coil for wireless power transfer tested for wireless capsule endoscope, novel weatstone-bridge antenna for fine grain positioning within RF near-field extending RFID capabilities, passive LC sensors for intraoral diagnostics, RF energy harvesting for wearable health monitoring, and real-time IoT platforms for Smart City solutions such as street lighting and waste management systems. He is also actively involved in national innovation programs such as MyHackathon, from which he founded a solution team, offering engineering and smart infrastructure solutions. He supervises researc projects in biomedical AI systems, e-stethoscopes, and embedded medical electronics, and regularly collaborates with clinicians and industry partners. In his role as an educator, he is also the course coordinator for Programming and Numerical Methods, emphasizing MATLAB and C++ for biosystem modeling. Dr. Yazed contributes to institutional advancement through curriculum design, industrial training coordination, and as an advisor to the Biomedical Engineering Student Club. His goal is to bridge medical needs and technological advancements through ethical, sustainable, and high-impact engineering innovations.

DR. SITI JARIANI BINTI MOHD JANI

Siti Jariani Binti Mohd Jani started her career in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya (UM) in 2009 as a science officer. After completing her PhD. in Soil and Water Science at the University of Florida, USA in 2018, she came back to the Chemistry Department, UM as a science officer before switching to her current post as Senior lecturer at the same department. Her research interest focuses on urban water quality and how urbanization and anthropogenic practices influence the storage, transport, and fate of constituents that potentially lead to urban water quality impairment. Her work centers on environmental chemical analysis and currently, she has started to expand her research area to atmospheric pollution and the application of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as a removal tool for environmental contaminants.
