Wenn-Chyau Lee received his BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Sciences from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia in 2011, and graduated with his PhD in Medical Sciences from Uiversiti Malaya in 2014. Subsequently, he joined Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN, A*STAR) as a research fellow. He was appointed as SIgN fellow after receiving the prestigious OF-YIRG grant awarded by the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) of Singapore in 2018. He joined A*STAR ID Labs as an investigator in 2021. Subsequently, he joined the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya as a senior lecturer. Currently, he is also an adjunct investigator of A*STAR ID Labs, Singapore. As a parasitologist, he has involved in studies encompassing several medically important parasites. His main research interest revolves around the immuno-pathobiology of malaria. He has been investigating and deciphering the roles of rosetting (a phenomenon where a Plasmodium-infected red blood cell is stably adhered to uninfected red blood cells, forming a flower-like structure called ‘rosette’) in the pathogenesis of malaria. Besides, he is exploring the potential of applying different biocontrol strategies to eliminate vector-borne diseases. He has worked as a research fieldworker in different places including the Thai-Burmese Border, China, peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo. As different laboratory settings are equipped differently, he enjoys adapting and improvising facilities available in the field sites to conduct experiments, as well as coordinating the insectarium and Arthropod Containment Level 2(ACL2) facility in the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. To date, he has published (as first/ corresponding author) in reputable journals such as Blood, Frontiers in Immunology, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, eLife, EBioMedicine, Entomologia Generalis, and Trends in Parasitology. Apart from reviewing manuscripts for various journals, as well as evaluating grant proposals for local and overseas funders, he is also an associate editor of Frontiers in Microbiology and one of the editorial board members of Decoding Infection and Transmission. He has involved in various teaching activities for the students of different programs in Universiti Malaya, such as the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Master of Pathology (MPATH), and Master of Medical Parasitology and Entomology, as well as the students from overseas institutes, such as the Master of Science Program in Public Health, Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University, Thailand. Besides participating as the coordinator for courses and several projects in the department, he is also the instructor of the microscopy training for the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) co-organized by the University of Glasgow and Universiti Malaya. He served as a facilitator in "Implementation Research (WPR-facilitated)", a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) by TDR-WHO in 2025. He has been a member of the Research Management Unit (RMU), Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya since 2022. He is also a member of the A*STAR Global Network (A*GN), Singapore, the Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB), and the Malaysian Society of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine (MSPTM).
show more »ADIL Johan is Deputy Executive Director (Academic and Student Affairs) at the Asia-Europe Institute and senior lecturer at the Faculty of Creative Arts, Universiti Malaya (UM). His research on music and popular culture considers interculturalism, cosmopolitanism, intimacy, affect and gender, focussing on the Malay world and Southeast Asia. He is author of Cosmopolitan Intimacies, a book on Independence-era Malay film music (NUS Press, 2018) and is co-editor of Made in Nusantara: Studies in popular music (Routledge, 2021). He has also published articles in the Journal of Intercultural Studies (2019); Kajian Malaysia (2019); JATI-Journal of Southeast Asian Studies (2022), Indonesia and the Malay World (2023) and Popular Music and Society (2025). He is currently the elected Chair for the Southeast Asian branch for the International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM-SEA). ADIL Johan ialah Timbalan Pengarah Eksekutif (Akademik dan Hal Ehwal Pelajar) di Institut Asia-Eropah dan pensyarah kanan di Fakulti Seni Kreatif, Universiti Malaya (UM). Kajiannya mengenai muzik dan budaya popular mempertimbangkan antara budaya, kosmopolitanisme, keintiman, pengaruh dan jantina, memfokuskan kepada alam Melayu dan Asia Tenggara. show more »TANG Tuck Mun, Lincoln, CL is a Language Lecturer at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics (FLL), Universiti Malaya (UM). He was the UM Convenor for Professional Credentialing Programme in Professional Translation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. He is also a UM Internal Auditor and reports to Quality Management and Enhancement Centre, UM. He was the Information and Communications Coordinator, FLL, UM and represented FLL at Corporate Communications Office, UM. As an applied linguist, Lincoln has a special interest in English language education, language acquisition, and is currently working on crisis translation. He is also a trained translator and completed his training under the Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books and Malaysian Translators Association. He has served as a reviewer for Journal of Modern Languages. He is a full Member (MCIL) and Chartered Linguist (CL) of Chartered Institute of Linguists. He is also a Founding Member of Chartered College of Teaching since its inception in 2017. He is also active in capacity-building initiatives of the Scout Movement in Malaysia (particularly through The King's Scout Brotherhood of Malaysia), in the Asia-Pacific Region, and at the world level through World Scouting. Lincoln is a Paul Harris Fellow of The Rotary Foundation. TANG Tuck Mun, Lincoln, CL ialah Pensyarah Bahasa di Fakulti Bahasa dan Linguistik (FBL), Universiti Malaya (UM). Beliau sebelum ini berkhidmat sebagai Penyelaras UM bagi Program Pentauliahan Profesional dalam Penterjemahan Profesional Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia. Beliau juga bertugas sebagai Juruaudit Dalaman UM yang melaporkan kepada Pusat Pengurusan Kualiti dan Penambahbaikan, UM. Sebelum ini, beliau pernah dilantik sebagai Penyelaras Informasi dan Komunikasi di FBL, UM, dan mewakili FBL di Pejabat Komunikasi Korporat, UM. Sebagai seorang ahli linguistik gunaan, Lincoln mempunyai minat khusus dalam pendidikan bahasa Inggeris, pemerolehan bahasa, dan kini sedang menjalankan kajian mengenai penterjemahan krisis. Beliau juga merupakan seorang penterjemah terlatih Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia dan Persatuan Penterjemah Malaysia. Beliau pernah berkhidmat sebagai penilai untuk Journal of Modern Languages. Lincoln merupakan Ahli Penuh (MCIL) dan Ahli Linguistik Bertauliah (Chartered Linguist) Chartered Institute of Linguists. Beliau juga merupakan Ahli Pengasas Chartered College of Teaching sejak penubuhannya pada tahun 2017. Bukan itu sahaja, beliau juga aktif dalam inisiatif pembangunan kapasiti Pergerakan Pengakap di Malaysia (khususnya melalui Persaudaraan Pengakap Raja Malaysia), di peringkat Asia-Pasifik, serta di peringkat dunia melalui Pengakap Sedunia (World Scouting).
