Dr Mohd Fadzil bin Jamaludin is a Research Officer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Advanced Manufacturing) from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and a Master of Engineering Science and Bachelor of Engineering (CAD/CAM) from Universiti Malaya. He also serves as Managing Editor of the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing and Material Processing (IJAMMP), published by the Centre of Advanced Manufacturing and Material Processing (AMMP Centre), Universiti Malaya.
His research interests span advanced manufacturing, materials processing, welding and joining, and metal additive manufacturing, particularly wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). He is also interested in product design, computer-aided design (CAD), and the application of computing and artificial intelligence to manufacturing and research activities. His work brings together experimental investigation, numerical simulation, and process optimisation to support the development of practical engineering solutions.
His current work include integrating AI, machine vision, and data-driven methods into product development, manufacturing process monitoring, and quality assurance. He also aims to explore how digital tools can improve research workflows, support engineering decision-making, and accelerate the translation of research into industrial applications.
Beyond research, he contributes to scholarly publishing, knowledge transfer, industry consultancy, innovation evaluation, and academic writing training. He welcomes interdisciplinary and industry collaborations that address practical challenges and deliver industrial and societal benefits.
