Associate Professor Dr. Sr Norhayati Mahyuddin holds a degree from University of Science Malaysia, in Housing Building and Planning majoring in Architecture and obtained MSc in Integrated Design Construction Management from University of Technology MARA in 2002. In 2011 she was awarded a PhD degree from University of Reading, United Kingdom under the Indoor Environment and Energy Research Group. She is currently a Registered Building Surveyor and a member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Malaysia (MRISM). She is an accomplished researcher with an exceptional track record of research success. Her research interests include Indoor Environmental Quality, Building Performance, Sustainable Built Environment and Computational Fluid Dynamics. She served as the Head in the Department of Building Surveying at the Faculty of Built Environment, University of Malaya (2014-2018). In addition, she was Associate Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Design and Built Environment (JDBE), and Head of Research Unit (Building Science & Performance). She is a resourceful academic advisor and has served (and is currently supervising) post-graduate students at the University of Malaya. To date, a total of 7 Phd students and 2 Master by Research have graduated under her supervision. Presently, she is a member of SIRIM’s Technical Committee, serving as Expert Advisor ISO on 'IAQ and Workplace Atmospheres'. In a non-governmental organization (NGO), she currently served as a Secretary General for The Clean Air Forum Society of Malaysia (MyCAS) 2016 – 2021. The quality of her work has led to many awards and recognitions such as the University of Malaya Excellence Service Award and Excellence Service Certificate, the Hitachi Research Fellowship Award from The Hitachi Scholarship Foundation Japan. She also obtained 2 Gold Awards at the International Research Innovation Invention Solution Exposition, University of Malaya in 2018 and another Gold and Bronze Award at the 6th International Innovation, Invention and Design Competition in 2017. Recently she received the Best Presentation Award by the Program Committee International Science Council (WASET 2019) in London. Based on Google Scholar, the H-Index is 17 and i10-index of 22, she has published over 60 research articles with 1000 citations. |
