Sr Dr Nurshuhada Zainon is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Quantity Surveying at the Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya. She is recognised for her expertise in digital construction, particularly in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and data-driven approaches for sustainable construction and carbon accounting. Her research focuses on translating digital technologies into practical solutions that enhance evidence-based decision-making and support the transformation of Malaysia's construction industry.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Quantity Surveying from Universiti Malaya in 2005, receiving the Anugerah Pelajaran Diraja, before obtaining an MSc in Construction Economics and Management from The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London, in 2009. She completed her PhD in Construction IT Management at Universiti Malaya in 2013.

Prior to joining academia, she began her career at CIDB E-Construct Sdn. Bhd., where she was involved in the development of Malaysia's National e-Tendering Initiative (NeTI). This early exposure to digital transformation inspired her long-term research agenda in digital construction. Since joining Universiti Malaya in 2013, she has been among the early Malaysian academics actively advancing BIM adoption through close collaboration with government agencies, professional bodies, and industry partners.

In recognition of her research contributions, she received the Universiti Malaya Young Excellent Researcher Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) in 2019. Committed to creating impact beyond the classroom, she has led and supported numerous community initiatives, including the award-winning #MsiaEndsDengue project, which received the Universiti Malaya Best Community Engagement Project Award in 2015, and coordinated the national DIY Made Simple Competition (2017–2020), one of Universiti Malaya's flagship community engagement programmes. Her dedication to the University has also been recognised through the Universiti Malaya Certificate of Excellent Service in both 2015 and 2016.

Beyond academia, she plays an active leadership role in advancing the quantity surveying profession. She is a Professional Quantity Surveyor registered with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM) and serves as a committee member of the Quantity Surveying Division of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM). She is also the Editor-in-Chief of the International Surveying Research Journal (ISrJ) and Section Editor of the Journal of Design and Built Environment (JDBE), in addition to serving as a reviewer for numerous international journals and conferences.

She is particularly committed to positioning Universiti Malaya at the forefront of digital and sustainable built-environment innovation by integrating emerging technologies with local context and industry needs to deliver meaningful impact for academia, policy, and society.
