Dr. Najiah Mohd Sadali earned her PhD in Plant Sciences from the University of Oxford in the UK, where she conducted extensive research on plastid biogenesis in crop species, focusing on chromoplast and chloroplast development in tomatoes and wheat. In 2018, after completing her doctoral studies, she joined the Center for Research in Biotechnology for Agriculture (CEBAR) at the University of Malaya as a Research Officer. Her current research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of plant physiology, with an emphasis on plastid development and enhancement for crop improvement, including economically significant species such as oil palm. Beyond plant molecular biology, she is committed to developing sustainable approaches to biosafety, biosecurity, and the genetic enhancement of plants and aquatic animals. Her dedication to advancing agricultural biotechnology is evident in her efforts to integrate cutting-edge molecular techniques with sustainable practices to address global challenges in food security and environmental stewardship. |
