CURRICULUM VITAE

DR. NAJIAH BINTI MOHD SADALI

(DPhil in Plant Sciences)
Dr. Najiah Mohd Sadali earned her PhD in Plant Sciences from the University of Oxford, UK, where she conducted extensive research on plastid biogenesis in transgenic crops, specifically focusing on the development of chromoplasts and chloroplasts in tomatoes and wheat. After completing her doctoral studies, she joined the Center for Research in Biotechnology for Agriculture (CEBAR) at the University of Malaya as a Research Officer in 2018. Dr. Najiah's current research explores the molecular aspects of plant physiology, with an emphasis on developing and enhancing various types of plastids for crop improvement, including in economically significant species such as oil palm. In addition to her contributions to plant molecular biology, she is deeply invested in pioneering sustainable approaches to biosafety, biosecurity, and the genetic enhancement of both plants and aquatic animals. Her dedication to advancing agricultural biotechnology is reflected in her ongoing efforts to integrate cutting-edge molecular techniques with sustainable practices, ultimately aiming to address global challenges in food security and environmental stewardship.
