Biography

 

 

  • Associate Professor Dr. Zul Ilham bin Zulkiflee Lubes completed his B.Sc.(Hons.) in Universiti Malaya, a Panasonic Scholar for M.Sc. and a JICA AUN/SEED-Net Scholar for his Doctoral study at the Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University, Japan. His current research interest is in the field of energy and environment, with esteemed awards from Japan Institute of Energy and American Oil Chemists’ Society. Dr. Zul Ilham also serves as an Associate Editor for Progress in Energy and Environment, Malaysian Journal of Science, Journal of Indonesia Sustainable Development Planning, Journal of the Society of Automotive Engineers Malaysia and Guest Editor for a Q1 journal; Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology (IF:5.89). In community outreach, he is actively promoting energy literacy, renewable energy and climate action to youth and community (Sustainable Development Goals; SDG 7 and 13) via his role as the Deputy Director of the UM Centre for Civilisational Dialogue. Professionally, he is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), accredited under the ASEAN Centre of Energy (Industrial collaborations with Gamuda Land and Petronas) and recently received Certificate of Achievement for completion of ENGSCI137x Energy in Environmental Constraints with Harvard University through edX and Certificate of Community Organizing for Action. Among his recent accolades are Asian Science Diplomat Award 2021 by the ASEAN Secretariat and Fulbright Visiting Scholar FY2022/2023 to Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Cornell University, United States of America.
