Dr. Azimah Omar received her B.Eng. degree in Electrical & Electronics and M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). 2017 she completed her Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronics & Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UM, and seconded to the Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) University of Malaya Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC). Her research interests include solar photovoltaic systems & technologies, nanomaterials & nanotechnology, solar cell modelling & optimization, and solar cell fabrication, characterization & analysis. She is also involved in solar PV module testing for industries using Electroluminescence equipment. In April 2025, the Electroluminescence Testing Lab successfully demonstrated its technical competence to operate in accordance with MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (ISO/IEC 17025:2017). She is also an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA, and a Graduate Engineer of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). In December 2024, she was appointed as a Counselor for the IEEE UM Student Branch, where the team will be organizing the SCOReD2025 conference in November 2025. In January 2020, she was selected to join the DAAD DIES ProGRANT Proposal Writing for Research Grants in Malaysia (Remote Seminar) organized by the University of Cologne, Germany. After completing three-section courses, she is officially in the DAAD DIES ProGRANT Alumni Community. In December 2024, in collaboration with Professor Takashi Sagawa (Kyoto University), their research work was selected to join the Leadership Exchange Course (FY2024, JST NEXUS program), sponsored by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and organized by Kyoto University, Japan. She recently had 674 total citations and a 12 h-index and 850 total citations, 15 h-index based on SCOPUS and Google, respectively. She is also an active and recognized Reviewer for the Journal of Materials Research, Heliyon Elsevier Journal, Nanotechnology Journal (IOP Publishing), and Materials Chemistry & Physics Elsevier Journal.
show more »Dr. Nasnoor Juzaily Bin Mohd Nasiruddin aka Dr. Samba was born in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. He completed his elementary school education at St.Thomas Elementary School, Kuantan, Pahang and continued his high school at one of the elite boarding schools in Malaysia: Sekolah Dato’ Razak (SDAR), Seremban. Upon completed his school-education level, he pursued his first degree in Exercise Physiology at University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and completed his Master degree in M.A Physical Education (Pedagogy) at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo-Michigan, USA. In 2019, Dr. Nasnoor obtained his doctoral degree in Kinesiology (Sport Pedagogy) at Texas A&M University, College Station-Texas, USA. Pertaining his sport background. Dr Nasnoor was a former national elite athlete in rugby and was appointed as a national team captain during the Asia Rugby Cup tournament, 2003. show more »Professor Dr FONG Choong Yi is a medical graduate from University of Nottingham, UK. He trained in Paediatrics and Paediatric Neurology in UK. His UK Paediatric Neurology specialty training include working in tertiary Neurology units at Great Ormond Street Hospital London, Evelina Children’s Hospital London and Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital. He had further subspecialty dual-fellowship training in Paediatric Epilepsy and Paediatric Electroencephalography at Brisbane, Australia (Mater & Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane) and Melbourne, Australia (Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne). He also is a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK. He is currently appointed Professor and Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is head of the Paediatric Neurology division from 2014. He developed and oversees the Comprehensive Paediatric Epilepsy evaluation service in University Malaya. He has published numerous peer-reviewed ISI publications. His research interests include paediatric epilepsy, paediatric bone health, paediatric neurology and using novel information technology applications in improving the quality of lives of children with neurological disorders. He also specialises in non-invasive and invasive epilepsy surgery assessment including long-term video-EEG monitoring, intracranial monitoring, electrocorticography and cortical stimulation. In recognition of his excellent service, he was awarded the University of Malaya excellent service award in 2016 and 2019. He was awarded the national Malaysian Society of Neuroscience Best Publication (Clinical) award in 2017 and the University of Malaya Best Clinical Neuroscience Publication award in 2019. Many of his postgraduate research students under his supervision have also won national research prizes. In 2019, he was awarded the Endeavour Executive Leadership Award by the Australian government. Professor Dr Fong plays an active role in advocation, education and forming collaborations in Child Neurology. Nationally, he is a co-author of the 2017 Malaysian Consensus Guidelines on the Management of Epilepsy, committee member of the 2019 & 2023 Malaysian Consensus Statement of Brain Death and the Malaysia National Specialist Register (NSR) Paediatric Neurology Subspecialty credentialling committee member. He is currently Vice President of Malaysian Society of Neurosciences, executive council member of Malaysian Epilepsy Council and the Malaysian Chapter of Child Neurology and Developmental Paediatrics from 2022-2024. He is a life member of the International Child Neurology Association. He was the treasurer of the Malaysian Chapter of Child Neurology & Developmental Paediatrics from 2014-2016. In the Asian region, he is a member of the Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA) International League against Epilepsy and helps in running epilepsy and EEG workshops throughout the Asian region as a faculty member. He trains many overseas Paediatric Neurology fellows from the Asian region. Internationally, he is also an appointed Task Force member of the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE) on Paediatric Psychiatric Issues of the Commission of Psychiatry and on Research Advocacy of Children of the Commision on Paediatrics from 2017-2021 and 2022-2024.
