Dr. Azimah Omar received her B.Eng. degree in Electrical & Electronics and M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). 2017 she completed her Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronics & Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UM, and seconded to the Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) University of Malaya Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC). Her research interests include solar photovoltaic systems & technologies, nanomaterials & nanotechnology, solar cell modelling & optimization, and solar cell fabrication, characterization & analysis. She is also involved in solar PV module testing for industries using Electroluminescence equipment. In April 2025, the Electroluminescence Testing Lab successfully demonstrated its technical competence to operate in accordance with MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (ISO/IEC 17025:2017). She is also an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA, and a Graduate Engineer of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). In December 2024, she was appointed as a Counselor for the IEEE UM Student Branch, where the team will be organizing the SCOReD2025 conference in November 2025. In January 2020, she was selected to join the DAAD DIES ProGRANT Proposal Writing for Research Grants in Malaysia (Remote Seminar) organized by the University of Cologne, Germany. After completing three-section courses, she is officially in the DAAD DIES ProGRANT Alumni Community. In December 2024, in collaboration with Professor Takashi Sagawa (Kyoto University), their research work was selected to join the Leadership Exchange Course (FY2024, JST NEXUS program), sponsored by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and organized by Kyoto University, Japan. She recently had 674 total citations and a 12 h-index and 850 total citations, 15 h-index based on SCOPUS and Google, respectively. She is also an active and recognized Reviewer for the Journal of Materials Research, Heliyon Elsevier Journal, Nanotechnology Journal (IOP Publishing), and Materials Chemistry & Physics Elsevier Journal.
