Dr. Norhayati is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya in Malaysia. Holding a PhD from the University of Reading, UK, awarded in 2011 under the Indoor Environment and Energy Research Group, she has cultivated a strong academic and research background. In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Norhayati holds the position of Registered Building Surveyor and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Malaysia (MRISM), bringing a practical and professional dimension to her research. Her leadership journey in academia encompasses her role as the Deputy Dean (Development) for the Faculty of Built Environment presently and prior roles as the Head of the Department of Building Surveying and the Head of the Research Unit for Building Science & Performance at the Faculty of Built Environment, University of Malaya, from 2014 to 2018. Currently, she holds the position of Deputy Dean (Development) for the faculty. Her research contributions extend beyond academia, with active participation in SIRIM International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as a Technical Committee of ISO/TC 146/SC2 for “IAQ and Workplace Atmospheres”. Dr. Norhayati has been actively involved in cutting-edge research in the fields of Indoor Environmental Quality and Zero Energy Buildings securing both national and international grants to support her research endeavors. Her work encompasses innovative approaches to enhancing indoor air quality, ventilation systems, and optimizing building energy and thermal performance. Her exceptional research efforts have earned her several awards, including the University of Malaya Excellence Service Award, Gold Awards at diverse International Research Innovation Competitions and the prestigious Hitachi Research Fellowship Award from The Hitachi Scholarship Foundation Japan. Demonstrating a notable research impact, she has published over 60 research articles with more than 1000 citations.
show more »I am a Family Medicine Specialist who has a deep interest in research related to hypertension, respiratory diseases in primary care, and telemedicine. I am commited to the field of hypertension is evident through my active involvement in various activities and societies related to hypertension. I have a remarkable track record of active participation and leadership roles in organizations, which reflects my dedication to advancing the field. Since 2022, I served as a Council Member of the Malaysian Society of Hypertension (MSH), vice president of the Malaysian Society for World Action on Salt, Sugar, and Health (MyWASSH) since 2024. One of my most significant achievements is my active participation in organizing hypertension-related screening campaigns, particularly in collaboration with the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) and the May Measurement Month (MMM). I had been actively involved in hypertension screening campaigns in my hospital since 2015. I serve as the key leader for the Asthma Right Care Initiatives, launched by the International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG), which focuses on promoting appropriate asthma management by addressing SABA overreliance in our setting. Additionally, I lead the teleconsultation services in my clinic, where we have implemented quality improvement projects to ensure continuous enhancement of our overall services.
show more »Dr. Mohd Fazli Abdul Aziz is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Public Administration and Development Studies, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and a Master of Public Administration from Universiti Malaya, along with a Bachelor's and Diploma in Public Administration from Universiti Teknologi MARA. Dr. Fazli brings extensive experience from both academia and public service. Prior to his academic appointment, he served in various capacities within the Malaysian government. At the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, he was attached to the Department of Climate Change, contributing to national initiatives on climate policy and sustainability strategies. He also held roles as Assistant Director at the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp Malaysia) under the Ministry of Local Government Development, and at the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), Prime Minister's Department, where he was involved in project coordination, policy implementation, and strategic monitoring. His areas of expertise include Public Policy, Fiscal Administration, Public Sector Finance, Environmental Policy, and Qualitative Research Methods. He is actively engaged in teaching, research, and community-based initiatives that support evidence-based policy making and sustainable governance.
