Zamri obtained his BSc in Chemistry and MSc in pharmacology from the University of Malaya and later PhD in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of London (UK) in 2007. Soon after completed his doctorate degree, he joined the Department of pharmacology, University of Malaya as a senior lecturer and currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and also Head of Universiti Malaya Research Centre for Biopharmaceuticals and Advanced Therapeutics (UBAT). He was recently awarded a Fellow by the British Pharmacological Society (FBPhS). His scope of research includes bioavailability and pharmacokinetic studies in human and animal models, drug delivery systems such as PEG-PLGA nanoparticles for systemic drug delivery, and semi solid formulations for transdermal and topical preparation. Apart from human clinical trials and preclinical studies in animals, his research also covers the development of humanized mice model for cancers and cell based therapy for cancers. His laboratory also provides services and research in adulterated pharmaceutical products, xenobiotic studies on certain chemicals such as endocrine disruptors in food products, human bodies, etc. using GCMS, HPLC, LCMSMS, etc. Apart from his research activities, he also actively provided consultation to local pharmaceutical companies to conduct testing on pharmaceutical formulations especially for bioequivalence studies, comparative dissolution, etc. His bioequivalence laboratory has conducted more than 40 bioequivalence studies for generic drug formulations and also conducted drug analysis in biological and pharmaceutical formulations.
show more »Dr. Nadirah Mat Pozian is a feminist public health scholar passionate about advancing gender equity and women’s well-being in Southeast Asia. She explores how gendered structures, social norms, and systemic inequalities shape women’s participation in work, access to health services, and overall life outcomes. Her work turns feminist research into practical solutions that improve policies, workplaces, and community programs. She collaborates with policymakers, NGOs, community groups, and global health stakeholders to design research that is inclusive, participatory, and transformative. She has led multi-country studies, facilitated stakeholder dialogues, and contributed to regional and UN-level policy initiatives on gender-responsive health systems and workplace equity. Nadirah’s research uses qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, and co-design workshops. She focuses on sensitive issues such as gender-based violence, maternal and reproductive health, and workplace inequities, ensuring women’s voices guide policy and practice. Her work bridges research, advocacy, and policy, advancing inclusive, feminist-centred approaches that centre women’s rights, agency, and care in health and social systems. Her publications include Family-Friendly Work Conditions and Well-Being Among Malaysian Women (2024) and Barriers Faced by Australian and New Zealand Women When Sharing Experiences of Family Violence with Primary Healthcare Providers (2023). She is currently writing her first book on family-friendly policies and family planning, focusing on Malaysia and Southeast Asia. show more »Noor Hanan Mohd Jafar is a Senior Lecturer from Department of Media and Communication Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with academic specialization in visual communication, brand management, and media research. She holds a Bachelor of Graphic Design and a Master of Visual Communication and New Media from the Universiti Teknologi MARA, and a PhD from the University of Malaya. Noor Hanan Mohd Jafar also gained industry-oriented research experience through her role as a Research Associate at Aufa Intelligence Sdn. Bhd., a research and strategic consultancy firm specializing in data-driven insights, public perception studies, reputation analysis, and policy-related impact assessment. Her work involved developing research instruments, conducting data collection and analysis, and translating empirical findings into strategic insights that could support decision-making among corporate and government stakeholders. Her research interests include corporate reputation measurement, media consumption behaviour, visual communication strategy, and Muslim-friendly tourism communication. She has been involved in several research projects examining stakeholder perception, cross-platform media behaviour, and communication strategies that influence public engagement and reputation.
