ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. AZNI ZARINA BINTI TAHA

Dr. Azni Zarina Taha (PhD, Aston University) serves as the Executive Director of UMGiving at Universiti Malaya, where she combines her academic foundation in organization and strategy with her extensive consultancy experience. Prior to this post, she was the Executive Director for Universiti Malaya Center for Continuing Education (UMCCed) and Deputy Director for UMConsult. Holding a PhD in strategy and organizational change, an MBA from Universiti Malaya, and a BSc from the University of Missouri, Dr. Azni is well-regarded for her contributions to management education and strategic development. In her academic role, Dr. Azni teaches corporate strategy and most management-related subjects, integrating academic theory with insights from her consultancy projects. Some of the management-related subjects include, change management in disruptive times, sustainable service innovations, performance management, international business, and training management. She has successfully completed supervising four (4) PhD students. She has published in several refereed and index journals, including Operations Management Research and Tourism Management.  She has delivered tailored training programs for organizations such as Panasonic Malaysia, the Malaysia Armed Forces, and Infineon Technologies, empowering these teams with advanced strategic skills. She has also conducted international training programs for Aoyama Business School (Japan), Kyoto Institute of Technology (Japan), Aston University (UK), and the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (Oman).  As a consultant, Dr. Azni has advised high-profile organizations across sectors. Her consultancy work with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) highlights her commitment to supporting Malaysia’s economic and industrial advancements. Other notable projects include developing a strategic customer service roadmap for Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pekerja (KWAP), profiling mosques as tourism attractions for the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC), and creating the Aerospace Industry 4.0 Readiness Index (AIR4S).

ASSOCIATE PROF. TS. DR. ISMAIL BIN AHMEDY

Ismail Ahmedy is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer System and Technology (CST), Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya. He is currently the Head of the Center for Mobile Cloud Computing Research (C4MCCR). Previously, he was the Head of Department for Department of Computer System and Technology, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya and Head for Research Grant Management Division, Department of Research Management, Universiti Malaya. He received his BSc (Computer) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2006. After completing his study, he has been granted a full scholarship to pursue his studies in Master and PhD where he received his MSc (Computer Science) from University of Queensland, Australia in 2009 and PhD (Computer Science) in 2015. He obtained his PhD (Computer Science) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia specialized in communication protocol for wireless sensor networks. His research interests are WSN, Internet of Things, Energy Managament and Optimization Algorithm.  Ismail has been awarded several research grants as a principal investigator for MRUN-LRGS, FRGS, IIRG and other research grants approx. RM600K. He has been actively publishing SCI/SCIE (WOS) journals. To date, he has successfully supervised 9 PhD and 3 Masters (by research) students.

DR. ARINDAM CHAKRABORTY

Dr. Arindam was born and raised in Kolkata (India) and he did his B.Sc. with Biotechnology (Jiwaji University, India) and M.Sc. in Marine Biology at the Pondicherry University (India). For his doctoral degree in Marine micropalaeontology at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (BSIP), India / University of Burdwan he worked on the Neogene microfossils and paleoclimate of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He had the opportunity to travel internationally (USA, UK, Scotland, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Thailand, Poland, Taiwan, France, Turkey, Indonesia, etc.) and nationally to attend conferences and collaborate on different research works. His postdoctoral experience in India as a National Postdoctoral Fellow (NPDF, 2017-2019) and Birbal Sahni Research Associate (BSRA, 2019-2022) at BSIP (India) was to understand the Neogene climate of the northern Indian Ocean. During April, 2022 he joined the Stable Isotope Laboratory at the Institute of Earth Sciences (IES), Academia Sinica (Taiwan), as a postdoctoral researcher and worked on triple oxygen isotopes and silicon isotopes from diatoms. He has been currently working as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, since March 2023. Other than the teaching responsibilities, his research is focused on the palaeoclimatic variability during the geological history. He uses microfossils (mainly siliceous microfossils and calcareous nannofossils) and their chemistry to determine patterns of global climatic conditions and ecology. He is also currently working on samples from International Ocean Drilling Program Expedition 342 (North Atlantic), Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Expedition 378 (South Pacific), and Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Expedition 391 (South Indian). He is also the supervisor of the Geology Museum, Universiti Malaya. Dr Arindam is the Associate Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, Membership Secretary of The Micropalaeontological Society (UK), nominated member of the Risk-KAN 'Past4future' Working Group, and Council member of Geological Society of Malaysia (GSM).
