Dr.-Ing Nurdiana Nordin is a passionate chemist and interdisciplinary researcher who is driven by the mission to bridge cutting-edge science with real-world solutions. She earned her B.Sc. in Pure Chemistry (2012) and M.Sc. in Organic Synthesis and Computational Chemistry (2015) from the University of Malaya, supported by the SLAB scholarship. Her scientific journey continued in Germany at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where she completed her Ph.D. in 2020 under the Bio-Interfaces International Graduate School (BIF-IGS). There, she honed her expertise in NMR technology, microfluidic device fabrication, and bioorganic analysis under the mentorship of leading experts from the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT) and the Institut für Biologische Grenzflächen (IBG). Throughout her career, Dr. Nurdiana has demonstrated a unique ability to merge fundamental science with technological innovation. From developing microscale biomedical systems to exploring metabolic pathways using micro-NMR platforms, her work reflects a deep commitment to impactful research. Now serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, University of Malaya, she envisions building a dynamic research team focused on smart, sustainable solutions for societal challenges—particularly in the fields of healthcare, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. Guided by Malaysia's national development goals and sustainable technology agendas, her team aims to harness advanced materials, biosensing tools, and green chemistry to create intelligent systems that benefit both industry and community. With an eye on translational impact, Dr. Nurdiana is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary collaborations and training the next generation of researchers who are not only skilled in science, but also grounded in empathy, innovation, and service to the nation.
show more »Dr. Syed Bahari Ramadzan Bin Syed Adnan is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Physics Department, Faculty of Science. He completed his Ph.D. in the subject of Material Science. His research is dedicated to advancing inorganic materials for energy storage applications. He specializes in ceramic electrolytes and electrodes for lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and magnesium-ion batteries, with a particular focus on sustainable materials. His research has garnered significant attention, evidenced by over 556 citations, an h-index of 14, and an i10-index of 24 on Google Scholar (as of 2024). This impact is further solidified by a publication record of 39 research papers, a granted research patent (A method for synthesizing nano ionic sodium zinc silicate"), and the successful acquisition of six research grants (as Principal Investigator) from Universiti Malaya (RU grants) and the Malaysian government (FRGS). Notably, his research on developing a clay-based battery electrolyte also received media coverage in 2023, highlighting its public significance. He has also excelled in research competitions, securing two gold medals in the Material Technology Challenge 7.0 and Pre-University Matriculation Innovation Competition in 2022, and a bronze medal in the Invention, Innovation, and Design Exposition (iiDeX) in 2015 and 2022. Beyond research, he has been actively involved in the society and academic community, serving in roles such as Committee Member in Institute Fizik Malaysia, Member of Malaysian Solid-State Science and Technology as well as in the National STEM Association and Associated Chief Editor in an international STEM journal.His leadership experience, including serving as Deputy Director (Research and Development,2017-2022) and Acting Director in PASUM (2018), as well as participation in numerous department and faculty committees, demonstrates his contributions to the university and the broader community. This engagement, combined with awards like the Excellence Service Award in 2018 and 2021, attest to the recognition of his contributions. show more »Dr. Wan Noor Azreen Wan Mohamad Nordin is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Universiti Malaya. She obtained a PhD in Management from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, a Master of Public Administration from Universiti Malaya, and a Bachelor of Administrative Science from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. Her research interests mainly focus on leadership, work engagement, organizational behaviour, and work performance. Her research primarily focuses on understanding the dynamics of individual and organizational factors that influence employee behavior and performance, particularly in the context of the public and nonprofit sectors. She is actively involved in studies examining leadership styles, organizational climate, psychological empowerment, and organizational citizenship behavior. Dr. Wan Noor Azreen has published in several indexed journals. Prior to joining academia, she gained professional experience as a bank officer, which enriched her practical understanding of workplace dynamics. Currently, she is involved in various collaborative research projects and remains committed to advancing knowledge that contributes both to academic scholarship and real-world organizational practices.
