ASSOCIATE PROF. IR. TS. DR. YUEN CHOON WAH

Ir. Ts. Dr. Yuen Choon Wah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, and a registered Professional Technologist with the Malaysia Board of Technologists. Currently, he is the Pro Tem Head of Smart Mobility Centre of Excellence, and the Head of Centre for Transportation Research in the University of Malaya, a research centre that provides technical opinion and consultancy services in Transport Engineering beside actively involved in R&D projects. His areas of expertise are traffic engineering, traffic safety & sustainable transport study.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NURIN WAHIDAH BINTI MOHD ZULKIFLI

Dr. Nurin Wahidah binti Mohd Zulkifli is an esteemed Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. She holds a distinguished academic background, having earned her Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, followed by a Master’s degree (MSc.Eng) from Monash University, Australia, and a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Tribology from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. Dr. Zulkifli's expertise lies in combustion and fuel engineering (tribology), which is reflected in her impressive scholarly contributions. With a remarkable publication record of 112 research articles in both national and international journals, she has garnered 3868 citations and an H-index of 38. Furthermore, she has exhibited exemplary mentorship by successfully supervising several PhD and master students from various countries. Her significant impact in the field was recognized in 2020 when she was acknowledged for ranking among the top 2% of researchers for the most cited documents in engineering by Web of Science and Clarivate Analytics. Dr. Zulkifli has also played a pivotal role in securing and managing numerous grant projects as the head of internal and external grants. Notably, she is an active collaborator, forging partnerships with researchers in the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia for grants, joint research efforts, and paper writing. Her collaborative endeavors extend to esteemed organizations such as PROTON, PETRONAS Research, DUCOM, MPOB, and researchers from local universities.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NG WEI LEIK

Dr. Ng Wei Leik is a primary care physician and academician at Universiti Malaya. His academic interests include pharmacogenomics and digital health, with a focus on applications relevant to primary care. In pharmacogenomics, Dr. Ng has been involved in studies exploring the role of genetic testing, particularly HLA-B*58:01 allele screening, to reduce adverse drug reactions in patients with gout. These efforts are part of broader collaborations with national health agencies to explore the integration of genomic tools into routine primary care. In parallel, Dr. Ng has contributed to digital health and e-learning initiatives aimed at supporting clinical practice and medical education. In the area of digital health, he has worked on symptom monitoring systems for COVID-19 and dengue, as well as decision support tools for managing low back pain. Dr. Ng is also part of an international research initiative focused on respiratory health, where he contributed to the development of a mobile-based early alert system aimed at improving asthma control using high-resolution air quality forecasts. His work in e-learning includes involvement in virtual patient simulations, interactive web-based modules, and regional e-learning collaborations. He has also participated in the development of evidence-informed e-learning resources for primary care physicians in Malaysia and Singapore. He is one of the coordinators for the university’s postgraduate Family Medicine training program, where he is actively involved in teaching, curriculum development, and assessment. He also serves as a regular research mentor with the Academy of Family Physicians of Malaysia.
