Ida HILMI is a Professor and Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Prof Ida Hilmi graduated with first class honours from the University of Glasgow in 1997. She went on to do her training in internal medicine in Oxford and obtained her Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) in 2000. She then joined the Northeast London Gastroenterology and Hepatology specialist program before returning to Malaysia in 2003. She is the current Chair of the National Gastroenterology and Hepatology Training Committee as well as the President for the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (MSGH) and the President for the Malaysian Society for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (MyIBD). Her other positions include Honorary Secretary for the Asian Education Network in IBD (IBD-AEN), Board member of the Asian Organization for Crohn’s and Colitis (AOCC); council member as well as member for the Women and Leadership in GI Taskforce for the Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE), the South East Asian representative for the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) Global Taskforce, member of the Asian EUS group (AEG) and the Malaysian lead for the IBD Emerging Nations Consortium (IBD-ENC). Her past positions include Head of the Department of Medicine, Head of Division in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Director of Endoscopy in University of Malaya. She is part the National Colorectal Cancer Taskforce and is a trustee for the Journal of Hepatology and Gastroenterology Foundation (JGHF) which is involved in medical research, education and training in gastroenterology and hepatology within the Asia-Pacific region. Professor Ida Hilmi’s principal area of research is the epidemiology of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in emerging nations which includes a recent landmark study looking at the global evolution of IBD published in Nature.
show more »Profesor Dr. Mohd Fauzi Hamat, dilahirkan pada 08 Ogos 1969 di Kampung Banggol Setol, Pasir Mas, Kelantan, Malaysia dan telah berkahwin dengan Puan Nurilhuda Haji Endut serta dikurniakan empat orang cahaya mata (dua lelaki dan dua perempuan). Mendapat pendidikan rendah dan menengah di Sekolah Menengah Arab, Khairiah, Banggol Setol, Pasir Mas, Kelantan (1975-1983), kemudian menyambung pengajian ke Kolej Ugama Sultan Zainal Abidin (KUSZA), Kuala Terengganu (1987-1990) dan memperolehi Diploma Pengajian Islam (Usuluddin). Selepas itu, menyambung pengajian ke Universiti al-Azhar dalam bidang Pengajian Islam dan Bahasa Arab (1991-1992) di Kulliyah al-Dirasat al-Islamiyyah wa al-Arabiyyah. Selepas pulang ke tanah air, beliau berkhidmat sebagai Guru Sandaran di Sekolah Menengah Ugama (Arab) Banggol Kulim, Rantau Panjang, Kelantan. Kemudian, berkhidmat sebagai Tutor di Fakulti Usuluddin, Akademi Islam, Universiti Malaya (sekarang dikenali sebagai Akademi Pengajian Islam) dan memperolehi Ijazah Sarjana Usuluddin (Falsafah Islam) (1997) dan PhD (Falsafah Islam) (2002) daripada Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. Beliau dilantik sebagai Pensyarah pada tahun 2002, kemudian dinaikkan pangkat sebagai Pensyarah Kanan pada tahun 2006, Profesor Madya pada tahun 2007 dan Profesor pada tahun 2022. Kebanyakan bukunya diterbitkan oleh Penerbit Universiti Malaya seperti Akidah dan Pembangunan Modal Insan (2012), al-Asma’ al-Husna dan Modal Insan (2011), Pengajian Islam di Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam Malaysia (eds) (2007) dan Ketokohan al-Ghazzali di bidang Logik (2005). Kini bertugas sebagai Pengarah Akademi Pengajian Islam, Universiti Malaya mulai 30.8.2021 hingga 31.12.2024. Pernah menjadi Pengurus Kualiti, Akademi Pengajian Islam, Universiti Malaya pada tahun 2016-2017. Beliau juga pernah berkhidmat di Brunei sebagai Profesor Madya Kunjungan di Fakulti Usuluddin, Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (2012-2014).
show more »Ir. Dr. Hwa-Jen YAP is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. He obtained a tertiary academic qualification from the Universiti Malaya for a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering, Master of Engineering Science and PhD in Engineering. Before joining UM, he worked in the Air-Conditioning R&D industry from 2000 to 2002. He has to date published more than 100 papers in respectable journals and conference proceedings both locally and internationally. He has supervised more than 40 PhD and Master's students. His area of interest in research includes Extended Reality (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality), Virtual Manufacturing (VM), Product Design, Artificial Intelligence, Sports Engineering, Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0), Robotics (Industrial Robots & Collaborative Robots, Cobot) and Automation. He is also actively involved in consultancy projects, in which he has more than 15 research & technology projects related to the Aerospace Manufacturing industry. Ir. Dr. Yap was the head of the Centre of Product Design & Manufacturing (CPDM) from 2013 to 2015. He was the Deputy Dean (Development) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya from 2017 to 2018. Currently, he is the Director of Universiti Malaya's Consultancy Centre (Pusat Perundingan Universiti Malaya, UMConsult), Director of the UPUM Resources Sdn Bhd and Managing Director of the UPUM Sdn Bhd. On professional qualifications, he is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in the Mechanical Engineering discipline registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). He is also a member of The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) of the Engineering Council, UK.
