Dr. Ho Hui Ling is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. She has received her Ph.D. from University of Malaya in 2003. Dr. Ho’s specialization is Malaysian History from the colonial period to modern period. She has conducted numerous studies on the history of Emergency era and communist movements in Malaya/Malaysia, socioeconomic development in Malaysia, ethnic relations and the development of plural societies in Malaysia, as well as various aspects of the history of Sarawak and Sabah. The findings of her research have been published in the form of books, chapters in books, journal articles and also contained in research reports and conference papers. Dr. Ho was also appointed as a panel of reference experts on secondary and primary school’s History curriculum and textbook by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia/KPM) since 2017. She was also involved in reviewing History textbooks for secondary and primary school published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP).
show more »Dr. Hong Wei-Han is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, specialising in medical education, curriculum development, educational assessment, and healthcare quality improvement. Her academic work focuses on advancing health professions education through evidence-based teaching strategies, educational measurement, and the development of innovative curricula that support effective clinical training and patient safety. Dr. Hong is actively involved in academic leadership and curriculum governance, including coordinating the MBBS programme and contributing to faculty and national initiatives related to teaching, assessment, and graduate employability. Her research focuses on self-regulated learning, student motivation, feedback literacy, medical student admissions, and educational innovation in clinical training. She has published extensively in international journals contributing to the global discourse on medical education and workforce development. Dr. Hong also serves on editorial boards and participates in international collaborations, conferences, and research initiatives in health professions education. Her contributions have been recognised through multiple awards, including innovation awards in medical education and excellent service awards from Universiti Malaya and international organisations.
show more »Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farid received a PhD in Environmental Geology, MSc and BSc in Applied Geology from Universiti Malaya. He is a certified Professional Geologist (P.Geol.) with the Board of Geologists Malaysia. He is an active member of Institute of Geology Malaysia and a member of Geological Society of Malaysia. Dr. Ahmad Farid teaches undergraduate courses in Geology and Environmental Geology, as well as supervise postgraduate MSc and Phd students. He is a coordinator for Industrial Relation and Attachment, Alumni and Community Engagement (SULAM) Course in Department of Geology, UM. His current research interests are focused on environmental impact of REE extraction, Hydrogeology and water flow in porous earth material, carbon capture using geological materials and metals pollution assessment & remediation in hydrosphere and pedosphere. He has authored over 27 publications in Web of Science Index-journals, received more than 500 citations with H-index of 12. Dr Ahmad Farid and his team is in close collaboration with local and international researchers, who share a common aim of translating new knowledge into scientific application and applied geological practice. He is also a recipient of awards such as the EAGER award from Coordinating Committee For Geoscience Programmes In East And Southeast Asia (CCOP) and Excellence Service Award from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
