Nurhidayah binti Abdullah received her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) and Master in Comparative Law (M.C.L) from the International Islamic University Malaysia and went to earn Doctor of Philosophy (2015) from the University of Sydney Business School, Australia. She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2004. She is currently a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Law, University of Malaya.Her research interest lies broadly in the area of contract law, business law including the social and economic aspects relevant to strengthen the areas of law. She has written extensively in the area of good faith in contractual performance and published in various local and international reputed journals. Her first book ‘Good Faith in Contractual Performance in Australia’ is published by Palgrave Macmillan, an international reputed publisher.Recently, she was invited by Chief Judge of Malaya, The Right Hon.Tan Sri Dato'Sri Azahar bin Mohamed to present her presentation entitled "Good Faith In Contractual Performance :Chasing a Mirage' in front of the judges at Palace of Justice, Putrajaya.
show more »Fatin Nur Majdina Nordin is a Senior Lecturer at the Programme of Applied Science with Islamic Studies, Department of Fiqh-Usul and Applied Sciences, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. Her work focuses on integrating scientific knowledge with Islamic principles within Health Sciences, adopting an interdisciplinary approach. She specializes at the intersection of public health, health literacy, Islamic perspectives on health, and the promotion of safety and informed consumer practices in cosmetic products.Her academic background spans both scientific and Islamic disciplines. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science with Islamic Studies (Biohealth Science), with research focusing on anthocyanin metabolism in the gut. Her MPhil examined Salvadora persica (miswak) in oral health care, integrating laboratory analysis and community assessment to strengthen her expertise in culture- and behavior-based health perspectives. Her PhD focused on public understanding of science, with an emphasis on safety and risk communication of cosmetic ingredients.Her research interests include health and mental health literacy, halal and sustainable consumption, ethical practices, and behavioral sciences. She is also actively involved in women’s and youth empowerment initiatives grounded in Islamic values. Her work advances culturally relevant, ethically grounded, and scientifically robust approaches to public health and community well-being through interdisciplinary research and education.
show more »Professor Chong Mei Chan, PhD, is an accomplished nursing academic and leader with over 20 years of expertise in gerontology, maternal-child health, and e-learning innovations. Currently a Professor at the University of Malaya (UM), she holds a BSc in Nursing (UM, 1995), MSc in Community Health (UPM, 2005), and PhD in Nursing (Monash University, 2014). Her research addresses critical public health issues, including Time banking for community-dwelling older adults, Chronic disease management, and nursing education adaptations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond academia, she actively engages in community health promotion and has established international collaborations with institutions in Australia, China, Taiwan, Jordan, Iran, UAE, UK, Japan, Hong Kong, and Indonesia. As Head of UM’s Nursing Department (2018–2023), Prof. Chong led transformative initiatives that elevated the program into the QS World Rankings (150–200) and achieved top departmental status in research publications for two consecutive years. Her leadership extends to national policy, having served on the Malaysian Nursing Board, Nursing Council for Higher Education, and the Health White Paper Advisory Council (2022–2023). She also co-authored Malaysia’s strategic roadmap for health workforce development as a member of the Ministry of Health’s Strategic Engagement Group on Health Workforce and Governance. An internationally recognized scholar, Prof. Chong has published 100+ papers (70+ in WoS/ISI journals), authored 6 textbooks, and supervised 66+ postgraduate candidates (40 PhDs graduated). With 2,130+ citations (h-index: 25, Google Scholar), she is a frequent keynote speaker and external examiner for nursing programs across the Asia-Pacific. Her dedication to advancing nursing education is further demonstrated through her mentorship of early-career researchers and ongoing roles in interprofessional healthcare initiatives.
