Dr. Elsa Haniffah Mejia Mohamed is a medical lecturer in Pharmacology at Universiti Malaya, with academic interests in clinical pharmacology, prescribing education, medical education, and higher education quality assurance. She is involved in undergraduate medical teaching and is particularly interested in making pharmacology learning clinically relevant, engaging, and connected to real-world healthcare practice.

Her academic and professional work includes curriculum and assessment-related activities, interprofessional learning, student engagement, and the development of practical approaches to strengthen teaching, learning, and academic quality. She also has experience in programme review, academic governance, policy and process refinement, and institutional quality systems.

In the field of quality assurance, Dr. Elsa is an ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Programme Assessor and has completed AUN-QA training in both programme and institutional assessment. She has contributed to institutional quality initiatives at Universiti Malaya, including the development and refinement of the Universiti Malaya Quality Excellence Framework (UMQEF) and Universiti Malaya Quality Excellence Index (UMQEI), with a focus on evidence-based decision-making, quality culture, and sustainable quality management systems.

Her research interests include pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics, cancer-related molecular pathways, medical education, and quality management systems in higher education. She welcomes academic and professional engagement in areas related to pharmacology education, assessment, prescribing, programme quality assurance, accreditation, academic governance, and institutional quality enhancement.
