Recognized among Stanford University and Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2024, Professor Naguib holds an M.B.B.S. from Universiti Malaya and a Ph.D. in Physiology from King’s College London. Over more than two decades of dedicated service at Malaysia’s premier university, he has established a prominent career spanning institutional governance, medical education, high-impact biomedical research, and national policy development.

In his administrative and educational roles, Professor Naguib has been pivotal in shaping medical curricula and academic standards. As Academic Program Lead, he spearheaded the comprehensive redesign, rebranding, and successful Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) reaccreditation of the Master of Medical Science (Physiology) program. Beyond his home institution, he extensively contributes to academic governance as an External Examiner, Program Assessor, and Academic Promotion Evaluator for professorial and senior appointments across public and private universities both in Malaysia and internationally.

Professor Naguib’s research program centers on endocrinology, metabolism, and reproductive biology. His scientific contributions address the regulation of fluid homeostasis in reproductive tracts, the therapeutic potential of tropical herbs in treating diabetes complications and infertility, and the impacts of Vitamin D, thyroid hormones, obesity, microplastics, and aging on endocrine and reproductive systems. A prolific scholar, he has published 88 ISI-indexed papers, predominantly in Tier-1 and Tier-2 journals with a 99% corresponding authorship rate, maintaining an H-index of 27 with over 1,880 citations. He has secured more than USD 2 million in cumulative competitive research funding and mentored 15 PhD and 15 Master’s graduates to completion, while continuing to supervise active postgraduate candidates.

He served as a key contributor to the formulation of Malaysia’s National Biotechnology Policy 2.0 (2023), acts as a national grant reviewer for the Ministry of Higher Education, and serves as Academic Editor for journals including Frontiers in Endocrinology and Frontiers in Reproduction. In industry and global outreach, he acts as a Research Consultant for Medika Natura Sdn Bhd and holds advisory affiliations with international scientific bodies in China. Furthermore, as Chair of the International Conference on Reproductive Science & Medicine, Embryology and Andrology, and through community initiatives like the Klinik Salat project which investigates the physiological wellness benefits of prayer, he continues to bridge advanced research with global scholarly discourse and public health awareness.
