Dr. Giribabu Nelli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, holding an MSc in Zoology and a PhD in Reproductive Physiology (Zoology) from Sri Venkateswara University, India. His multidisciplinary research integrates molecular physiology, preclinical models, and precision medicine to advance translational therapeutics in reproductive endocrinology, infertility, metabolic disorders (diabetes, obesity), and mitochondrial dysfunction.

A highly accomplished academic, Dr. Nelli has authored more than 87 journal publications, 5 book chapters, and three patents, while securing over RM2.5 million in cumulative research funding as both principal and co-investigator. A dedicated mentor, he has successfully supervised four PhD and seven master’s candidates to completion.

His global academic leadership is highlighted by his appointment as Editor-in-Chief of Nutrition and Metabolic Insights (SAGE Publishing), alongside previous editorial and reviewer roles for prestigious journals like PLOS ONE, International Journal of Endocrinology, Frontiers in Endocrinology, Frontiers in Physiology, and the European Journal of Medical Research.

Dr. Nelli serves as President of the Society of Phytopharmacology and Research and as a Scientific Committee member for the 11th FAOPS Congress 2027. His extensive institutional governance at Universiti Malaya includes coordinating elective courses and serving as an MBBS academic advisor, contributions that earned him the Universiti Malaya Excellence Service Award (2022) and multiple Certificates of Excellent Service (2018, 2019, 2021, and 2026).
