Professor Ir. Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Raman is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs), University of Malaya. Previous positions held by him include the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Board of Director of the University, Director of Centre of Innovation & Commercialization and Director of Community & Industry Relations Centre. His research interests are in mixing using stirred vessels, green technology and advanced wastewater treatment. He has supervised more than 90 PhD and Master students and has published about 270 papers in high impact journals and conference proceedings. There are 10 patents registered under his name. His achievements in research activities have resulted in him being recognized as one of the Top Research Scientists in Malaysia in 2014. Subsequently he was elected as the Fellow of Academy of Sciences, Malaysia recently. Professor Abdul Aziz is also a practicing chemical engineer where he is involved in many engineering consultancy projects, especially in the field of environmental sustainability. In the last five years he has been contributing his expertise in Engineering Education, STEM initiatives and accreditation programs nationally.
