Biography | |
Dr. Seong Lin DING is Associate Professor of Sociolinguistics at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics. She was a Korean Foundation for Advanced Studies Fellow at Yonsei University, South Korea; a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Glamorgan; and a Visiting Academic Researcher at Lancaster University, UK. She has also been awarded an Erasmus plus Mobility Grant to the Department of Linguistics at University of Zadar, Croatia. Her research interest lies broadly in the areas of Sociolinguistics and Applied Linguistics, particularly in the study of minority and heritage languages, language and identity, and linguistic landscape. Her recent publications include articles in Language in Society, Multilingua, Social Semiotics, Lingua, Educational Technology Research and Development, Australasian Journal of Educational Technology, Innovations in Education and Teaching International, and a variety of edited volumes published by international publishers and university presses. She would be interested to work with peers abroad and potential postgraduate students in the area of sociolinguistics. Research studies relating to language vitality, sociolinguistic variation, linguistic landscape and identity are particularly welcome. |
