Dr Rabiah Al-Adawiyah Rahmat is a dental lecturer and specialist forensic odontologist at Universiti Malaya, with multidisciplinary expertise in forensic odontology, forensic DNA, oral and maxillofacial imaging, and emerging digital technologies in dentistry. She obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in India in 2011 and subsequently served as a Dental Officer with the Ministry of Health Malaysia before joining Universiti Malaya in 2013.

She pursued her postgraduate training at the University of Adelaide, Australia, where she completed a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Odontology in 2015 and later earned a PhD in Forensic DNA in 2020. This unique combination of clinical dentistry, forensic odontology, molecular science, and imaging underpins her work across academic, clinical, research, and medico-legal settings.

Dr Rabiah has contributed to numerous forensic and medico-legal cases involving human identification, dental age estimation, and the evaluation of alleged clinical malpractice. Her research interests include dental age estimation, forensic human identification, DNA recovery and preservation from dental tissues, post-mortem and diagenetic changes, CBCT and three-dimensional imaging, radiation-related research, and artificial intelligence applications in dentistry. She has led and collaborated on competitively funded research projects at university, national, international, and industry levels, including projects involving AI-assisted dental related screening tool, post-mortem interval estimation, predictive modelling, and advanced imaging.

Beyond research and casework, Dr Rabiah is actively involved in postgraduate supervision, academic assessment, peer review, professional education, and invited lectures at national and international platforms. Her contributions have been recognised through several research presentation and service awards, including Best Presenter Overall at Universiti Malaya in 2026, Third Prize Oral Presentation Category at 2025 International Convention of Forensic Medicine and Sciences, First Place in the Oral Presentation in the Researcher Category at the 2021 International Association for Dental Research Malaysian Section, 2026 Universiti Malaya Excellence Service Award, and 2022 Universiti Malaya Certificate Of Excellent Service.

She is equally committed to translating academic expertise into societal impact. Through public engagement, advocacy, and community initiatives, she has championed issues affecting vulnerable and underprivileged children, particularly those relating to identity, welfare, education, and access to opportunities. One of her recent work was leading the Corporate Social Responsibility And Oral Health Promotion Programme SMILE4U 2.0 targeting the underprivileged community in Semporna, Sabah. Her work reflects a broader commitment to advancing forensic dental science while ensuring that research, clinical expertise, and innovation contribute meaningfully to healthcare, justice, education, and society.
