ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. ESHAMSUL BIN SULAIMAN

Dr Eshamsul Sulaiman is an Associate Professor at the Department of Restorative Dentistry, University of Malaya. He graduated with BDS from the Queen’s University of Belfast, United Kingdom in 1997 and obtained his specialist training in Prosthodontics with Distinction from the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London, United Kingdom in 2004. His early training was in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry at the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff, United Kingdom from 1997 to 2001. He obtained the Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry (MFD) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland in 2000. Dr Eshamsul has more than 20 years’ experience in oral implantology and has been actively involved in the teaching of postgraduates in Oral Implantology since 2005. Dr Eshamsul has performed a variety of complex implant procedures involving guided bone regeneration (GBR), connective tissue grafting, sinus floor elevation, alveolar ridge preservation & augmentation, immediate implant placement in the aesthetic zone, partial extraction (root membrane) technique as well as managing mechanical complications post implant placement. He also incorporates computer-guided implant planning and placement in the management of his implant cases. Dr Eshamsul is also the coordinator and director of the University of Malaya Certificate of Oral Implantology course, speaker and instructor at many implant courses & workshops in Malaysia.  Dr Eshamsul has given many lectures both within and outside Malaysia. He was an invited speaker at the Asian Academy of Prosthodontics Biennial Conference (2021), Indonesia College of Prosthodontics webinar, Malaysia Oral Implant Association webinar, International Joint Pakistan Prosthodontic Association-Pakistan Association of Orthodontics Conference, Pakistan (2018, 2023), Malaysia International Dental Show (MIDS, 2023), 8th Malaysian Society of Periodontology (MSP) Biennial Scientific Conference (2023), VNU Dental Exhibition and Congress, Vietnam (2023), 31st Malaysian Dental Association Scientific Conference & Trade Exhibition (2024), 3rd Medan International Prosthodontic Scientific Meeting, Indonesia (2024), and 29th Malaysian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (MAOAMS). He is an active member of MegaGen International Network of Education and Clinical Research (MINEC) and was appointed as MINEC Honoured member in 2020 and a key opinion leader (KOL) for MegaGen implant system. Dr Eshamsul is also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England Restorative Specialty Membership & MJDF Examinations. Dr Eshamsul was one of the winners at the final round MegaMind Clinical Case Competition in conjunction with 15th MegaGen International Symposium 2022 held in Seoul and the finalist at the MegaMind Clinical Case Competition in 2023 in Antalya, Turkiye. He is currently the Head of Oral Implantology Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. TANG LI YOONG

Dr. Tang Li Yoong is the Head of the Department of Nursing Science at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya (UM). Her areas of expertise include Renal Nursing, Research & Statistics, Nursing Education, and Clinical Nursing. With extensive experience in supervising students in clinical areas and nursing research, Dr. Tang has made significant contributions to the field of nursing both academically and professionally. As an Assessor for the Nursing Board Malaysia, Dr. Tang is crucial in curriculum evaluation and accreditation visits to various public and private institutions. This position allows her to ensure that nursing programs maintain high standards and continue to evolve to meet the needs of the healthcare industry. Dr. Tang's research projects are diverse and impactful. She has led studies on online learning for nursing education (PV039-2021) and psychosocial approaches and behavioral interventions in preventing the spread of infection in hospital ICUs (TR001A-2020). These projects highlight her commitment to improving nursing education and patient care practices. Throughout her career, Dr. Tang has held numerous administrative roles. Since January 2024, she has served as the Head of the Department of Nursing Science, where she oversees the department's strategic direction and fosters an environment of academic excellence. Her appointment as a member of the Public University Nursing Board from October 2024 to December 2025 further underscores her leadership and expertise. Dr. Tang's role as a course coordinator for several critical courses, such as  nursing research and statistics, demonstrates her dedication to providing comprehensive education to nursing students. Her involvement in various task forces and committees within the department and university showcases her commitment to policy and curriculum development, ensuring that UM remains a leader in nursing education. Her research contributions extend beyond the classroom. Dr. Tang has co-researched several projects funded by prestigious grants, including the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) and the Covid-19 Special Research Grant. These projects cover a wide range of topics, from food safety practices among food truck vendors to mental wellbeing in the community during the Covid-19 pandemic. Administrative duties have been a significant part of Dr. Tang's career. She has held various roles, including Head of Department since January 2024, member of the Public University Nursing Board, and course coordinator for multiple nursing courses. Her involvement in numerous task forces and committees highlights her dedication to improving nursing education and practice. DR. MUZALWANA BINTI ABDUL TALIB @ ABDUL MUTALIB

Dr. Muzalwana is a senior lecturer in the Department of Decision Science, Faculty of Business and Economics (FBEcons) (formerly known as the Faculty of Economics and Administration, FEA), where she has been serving since 2011. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics with a specialization in Statistical Quality Control (SQC) from the University of Malaya. She also earned her Master’s in Applied Statistics from FEA and a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. As an applied statistician, Dr. Muzalwana’s research is inherently interdisciplinary, focusing on Statistical Quality Control, efficiency studies, and survey research. Her work extends SQC applications beyond manufacturing to domains such as environmental studies, efficiency measurement, and social science research. Dr. Muzalwana’s primary research interest lies in developing and applying statistical control schemes to analyze environmental variables in Malaysia. Her work includes the application of control charts to gain valuable insights into COVID-19 case trends in Malaysia and to monitor air quality patterns in compliance with the Malaysian Ambient Air Quality Standards. Other notable contributions include measuring the efficiency of higher education institutions with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), exploring retirement financial planning among civil servants, and examining the relationship between household income and life satisfaction among single mothers in Malaysia. Her recent publications include Pasaran Dadah dari Perspektif Socio-ekonomi Malaysia (The Malaysian Drug Market from Socio-Economic Perspectives) and an edited volume, Post-Pandemic Economic and Social Development: Recovery, Challenges, and Policy in Malaysia. These works contribute significantly to the social sciences and public discourse on critical societal challenges. A passionate educator, Dr. Muzalwana designed the course Statistical Methods for Quality Management for the Master’s in Applied Statistics program at FBEcons and has been teaching it since 2012. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she specializes in graduate-level courses in statistical quality management and marketing research techniques, as well as undergraduate courses in statistics and management decision-making. Dr. Muzalwana has supervised more than 50 Master’s students and 14 Ph.D. candidates over the past decade, playing a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of scholars in her field.
