PROF. DR. ZAHARAH BINTI HUSSIN

Dr. Zaharah Hussin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Foundation and Humanities, Faculty of Education, University  Malaya (UM) born in Kedah. Prior to that, she was a secondary school teacher, SLAB tutor, lecturer and senior lecturer at UM. She is also a person who is also entrusted with administrative duties at UM since she started working as a lecturer in 1997 until now, starting from as the coordinator of Teaching Training, Head of Department and is now the Deputy Dean (Higher Degree) in her Faculty. Her academic expertise is in the field of teacher training and educational research especially Islamic Education, Curriculum, Values ​​and Akhlak Education, content analysis, Delphi techniques in research, model development and qualitative research in general. Dr. Zaharah is also active in publishing articles in national and international journals, academic books and presentations in conferences and webinars. Her book published by UM publisher entitled Akhlak  Education: Curriculum Analysis and Design was awarded the National Book Award 2018 Education category by the National Book Development Foundation in conjunction with the Book Fair 2018. He has also contributed teachers, researchers and experts particularly in Islamic Education field locally and internationally.

ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NOR FAHIMAH BINTI MOHD RAZIF

Dr. Nor Fahimah Mohd Razif is an Associate Professor at the Department of Fiqh-Usul and Applied Sciences, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. She earned her PhD in Fiqh al-Mu‘amalat from Universiti Malaya in 2014 and has since developed a strong academic and industry-facing profile in Islamic finance and Shariah governance. She began her career at the International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA), contributing to technical research on Islamic hedging instruments, particularly option-based structures. She subsequently joined the Securities Commission Malaysia as an Executive in the Islamic Capital Market Department, where she was directly involved in regulatory and product development matters relating to Shariah-compliant capital market instruments. This combination of research and regulatory experience has positioned her at the intersection of academic scholarship and industry practice. Dr. Nor Fahimah has served and continues to serve on several prominent Shariah Committees, including Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, RHB Islamic Bank, National Farmers Fund (NAFAS), Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PERNAS), and Masryef Advisory. Through these roles, she provides strategic Shariah advisory services on Islamic bank products, Islamic capital market products, fund structuring, governance frameworks, and compliance oversight, thereby strengthening institutional credibility and market confidence. Her scholarly contributions include numerous publications in reputable journals, books, and conference proceedings at national and international levels, particularly in Islamic economics, sukuk structuring, debt from the Islamic perspective, and financial regulation. Her expertise in Fiqh al-Mu‘amalat, Islamic banking, Islamic capital markets, and Shariah-compliant financial transactions underpins her growing academic leadership and sustained industry visibility in the field of Islamic finance.

PROF. DR. WAN HALIZA BINTI ABD MAJID

Bibliography: Professor Dr Wan Haliza Abd. Majid (2021)   Dr Wan Haliza Abd. Majid graduated with Bachelor in Physics from University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK in 1988. Initially, she worked in the Physics department, University Malaya as a tutor from 1990-91 while she was completing her Master’s Degree. Upon completing her PhD in 1994 from the University of Sheffield (UK), she was attached to the Matriculation Centre (PASUM) from 1994-2000, University Malaya as a lecturer before transferring to the Physics Department in 2000. Currently, her research interest is related to pyroelectric and ferroelectric properties of organic materials, fabrication and device characterization of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and photo-sensing and signal processing of biomaterials, quantum dots, and their applications. She has participated in many seminars, workshops, conferences and community engagement projects related to the Physics education program. Her involvement in research led her to lead (Principle Investigator) various research grants since the year 2000 which include, Short Term Research Fund (PJP-UM), University Malaya Research Grant (UMRG), High Impact Research Grant (HIR-UM), Exploratory Research Grant Scheme (ERGS-MOHE), ScienceFund (MOSTI), Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS-MOHE) and Long Term Research Grant (LRGS-MOHE).  She has been invited as one of the panel reviewers/evaluators for various grants awarded by MOHE and MOSTI at the university and national level since 2012. Internationally, her involvement as one of the panel reviewers for the Slovak Research And Development Agency starts from the year 2016 until recently. Currently, she is the Head of Low Dimensional Materials Research Center (LDMRC) (since 2016), the Chief Editor of Malaysian Journal of Science (MJS) (since 2020), the Chairperson for MASS Chapter of University Malaya (since 2019) and Committee member for Institute of Physics (IFM) (since 2021). She was appointed as Deputy Dean of Research and Higher Degree at the Faculty of Science (2010-2014), Dean (2017-2019) and Deputy Dean (2016-2017) of Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS). She is committed to equipping graduates at the tertiary level with knowledge, technology and values that can be used to interact positively with society at large.
