ASSOCIATE PROF. DR. NORAZILAWATI BINTI MUHAMAD SARIH

Norazilawati Muhamad Sarih obtained her BSc (Hons.) degree in Polymer Technology from the University of MARA Technology, Malaysia. After graduating in 2001, she worked temporarily at Pearson (M) Sdn Bhd as an Assistant Editor. Subsequently, she was offered a permanent position at Heveafil (M) Sdn Bhd as an R&D Executive in the same year. In 2004, she joined the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya as a temporary Tutor. In 2010, she earned her PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Durham, United Kingdom. Later that year, she was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya. Throughout her career, she has taught various courses in several programs, including BSc in Chemistry, BSc in Applied Chemistry, MSc (coursework), and a Research Methodology course for PhD students. She has supervised ten postgraduates and is currently supervising three postgraduates pursuing PhD and MSc degrees. Additionally, she has mentored over 30 final-year project students. Apart from her administrative responsibilities at the departmental and faculty level, she has been serving as the Vice-President of the Malaysia Carbon Management Society since 2019.

ASSOCIATE PROF. IR. DR. NORRIMA BINTI MOKHTAR

Norrima Mokhtar received the Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Malaya in 2000. After working two years with International Telecommunication Industry with attachment at Echo Broadband GmbH, she managed to secure Panasonic Scholarship which required intensive screening at the national level in 2002. She finished her Master of Engineering at Oita University, Japan under financial support received from Panasonic Scholarship in 2006. Consequently, she was appointed as a lecturer to serve the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Malaya immediately after graduating with her Master of Engineering. As part of her career development, she received SLAB/SLAI scholarship to attain her Ph.D. in 2012. She held several important positions such as Coordinator for Industrial Training, Coordinator for Research Laboratory, Coordinator for EBA-Consortium(Keio University), Coordinator for Nagaoka University of Technology and Coordinator for Manchester Metropolitan University(UK). Dr. Norrima was also the principal investigator for High Impact Research Grant (MOHE) worth of RM 1 million along with Science Fund and CREST grant. She is the author and co-author of more than 50 publications in international journals and proceedings in Sensors, Automation, Image Processing, Human-Computer Interface, Brain-Computer Interface, UAV and Robotics. To date, she had successfully supervised 4 PhD and 4 Master Engineering Science students (by research). She is also active as reviewer for many reputable journals and several international conferences.

MR. MAGESAN A/L R AYAVOO

Mr Magesan R Ayavoo read law at the University of London (External) and he obtained his Master of Laws degree in 2004 from the University of East London, United Kingdom.  He was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2006. He had obtained seven years of qualitative experience in legal practice, skilled in handling all types of civil and criminal litigations. He has presented talks on various legal issues / topics on a bi-weekly TV program. He is certified as a mediator by the Malaysian Mediation Centre.  He joined the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya as an Expert Consultant in October 2012 and is currently a Senior Lecturer. He is actively involved in the undergraduate teaching and research activities and his area of expertise includes Legal Practice and Ethics, Professional Practice, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, Criminal Justice and Constitutional Law.  He is also currently enrolled in the PhD program at the University of Malaya examining preventive detention issues in Malaysia under the supervision of Emeritus Proffesor Shad Saleem Faruqi.
