TS. DR. NOORHIDAYAH BINTI MAMAT

Dr. Hidayah obtained her first degree in Bachelor of Science with Islamic Studies specialized in Ecology and Biodiversity from Universiti Malaya in 2009, under Public Service Department Malaysia scholarship. She then continued her interest in Science Biology at the same university under the National Science Fellowship (NSF), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation scholarship where she obtained a Master of Science in Molecular Taxonomy in 2013. Afterward, she worked as a Research Assistant to expand her experience in the research world before she continued her PhD. In the year 2015, she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia to pursue her PhD focusing on Bio-ecological and taxonomic studies of Malaysian dragonflies at Universiti Malaya. While completing her PhD, she becomes a recipient of short-term International Program Associates (IPAs) under the International Joint Graduate School Program RIKEN, by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), Wako-Shi, Japan in 2016. RIKEN is Japan's largest comprehensive research institution renowned for high-quality research in a diverse range of scientific disciplines. While carrying out her PhD project at RIKEN, she was engaged in the Enzyme Research Team, Biomass Engineering Research Division, RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science. The research she has conducted at RIKEN to date aims to demonstrate the micro joint wing properties in the suborder Zygoptera using combined techniques of laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) to explore resilin elasticity investigations and analyze of protein components. In 2018, she completed her PhD and started her career as a part-timer lecturer, and afterward, she has been appointed as Senior Lecturer in 2020 under Ecology Biodiversity Programme, Institute Science Biological Science, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya. She currently teaches Animal Behaviour & Ethology and Animal Structure, Function & Physiology subjects to undergraduate students. She has vast experience in teaching and learning starting as a demonstrator back in 2013 and involved in immense research field preliminary back to 2010 and became a reviewer in several peer-reviewed and high impact journals such as PLoS ONE.

PROF. DR. MAZLINA BINTI MAZLAN

Dr. Mazlina Mazlan is a Professor and Head of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at Universiti Malaya. She has significantly advanced the field, particularly in brain injury and neurorehabilitation. Her expertise spans traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. Prof. Mazlina's TBI research has been widely published in medical journals, and she serves as Associate Editor for Neurology Asia (WoS) and Journal of Health and Translational Medicine (Scopus). She has co-authored numerous chapters and books, including a contribution to the globally recognized textbook Braddom's Rehabilitation Care. Her influence extends to keynote addresses at international conferences including the World Congress of the International Society of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine and invited clinical workshops in Southeast Asia. Additionally, she founded and leads the Malaysian Association of Rehabilitation Physicians' Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Special Interest Groups, focusing on clinical training, education, and public awareness. Prof. Mazlina has supervised over 50 postgraduates, including the first PhD graduate from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Universiti Malaya. Her leadership extends to chairing the National Conjoint Board for Rehabilitation Medicine Specialty and serving as a Medical Specialty Program Panel Evaluator for the Malaysian Medical Council. She is also part of the World Health Organisation's expert review group for Rehabilitation Intervention toolkit. Beyond academia, Prof. Mazlina frequently serves as an expert medical witness in medico-legal TBI cases. Clinically, she is a pioneer, being the first Malaysian rehabilitation physician with a Research & Clinical Fellowship in brain injury rehabilitation and the first Malaysian appointed to the Asian Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Society SIG Council. She provides expert clinical consultations and treatments, as a Consultant Rehabilitation Physician at UM Medical Center & UM Specialist Center.

PROF. DR. SYARIDA HASNUR BINTI SAFII

Dr. Syarida Hasnur Safii is a distinguished academic and clinician specializing in periodontology. She obtained her degree in Dentistry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2002 and subsequently served as a dental officer with the Ministry of Health Malaysia in Kuantan, Pahang, for four years. In 2006, she joined the Universiti Malaya as a tutor and later pursued her Master of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology at King’s College London, successfully completing it in 2009. That same year, she was awarded the Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, further solidifying her expertise. Dr. Safii achieved her PhD at the University of Otago, New Zealand, in 2018, focusing on periodontal research. She currently serves as an associate professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, where she is also the Deputy Dean (Clinical Services). In her academic role, she teaches undergraduate dental students and supervises postgraduate students enrolled in the Master of Clinical Dentistry, Master of Dental Science, and PhD programmes. Additionally, she contributes to the development of the curriculum for the Periodontology specialist programme at the Universiti Malaya and other local universities. Her research primarily focuses on periodontal disease and its association with systemic conditions, the use of locally-delivered antimicrobial therapies as adjuncts to scaling and root surface debridement for periodontitis treatment, systematic reviews, and dental education. She has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals and actively contributes as a reviewer for scholarly manuscripts. Additionally, she holds a position as an editorial board member for BMC Oral Health, reinforcing her commitment to advancing dental research and education.
