Yazkhiruni Yahya is a senior lecturer at the Accounting Department, Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya. She was awarded the Bachelor of Accounting from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), and obtained her Master in Science (MSc.) of Accounting, also from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM). During her study at IIUM, she was exposed with many Islamic Courses such as Islamic Economics, Islamic Accounting and Finance, Accounting for Islamic Institutions, Islamic Worldview and Accounting Ethics, Zakat Accounting and etc. She then pursued her Ph.D. in Islamic (Shariah) Auditing and Judgement Decision Making (JDM) at the University of Malaya (UM) by focusing on Islamic financial institutions. In addition, during her PhD, she was well exposed with experimental research method. In terms of research, she is currently involved in various researches in management accounting and financial accounting, Islamic (Shariah) Accounting and Auditing, Big data auditing and Sustainability. She’s recently completed a program known as Islamic Finance Mini Pupillage Programme 2019/2020 offered by Malaysian Institute of Accountant (MIA).
show more »Azeana Zahari qualified as Bachelor of Science (2007) and Master of Science (2010) from the University Malaya, Malaysia. She went for a research attachment under SLAB/SLAI fellowship at The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry and Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research), Karachi, Pakistan in 2015. She completed her doctoral degree in Natural Product and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Malaya in 2016. Having obtained the qualifications, she was appointed as Senior Lecturer at Department of Chemistry, Faculty Science, University of Malaya. She is actively involved in teaching of the undergraduates, postgraduates and active member in her department, holding a number of administrative posts and task force members. She has published extensively in many acclaimed international journals such as Scientific Reports, Planta Medica, Heterocycles, Molecules, Phytochemistry Letters, Natural Product Communications and Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine. Her areas of interest are extraction and isolation of natural product compounds, structural elucidation using 1D, 2D NMR, UV-vis, LCMS and IR. Recent advance natural product research that she interested in is Molecular networking as dereplication strategy. Subsequently, she undergo research training entitled dereplication of alkaloids from Ochreinauclea Maingayi by integration of molecular networking and LC-MS/MS fragmentation under the framework of the LIA (Laboratoire International Associe) programme established under CNRS, ICSN and the University of Malaya at University Paris-Sud, University Paris-Saclay, France in 2018. She has been awarded with a number of research grants as a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator. She is member of Malaysian Natural Product Society as part of her contribution to Malaysia as whole.
show more »Marniza Saad is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Department of Clinical Oncology, University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, since 2006. She also holds the Associate Professor post at the Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya (UM) Kuala Lumpur. She obtained her Medical Degree from University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff, United Kingdom in 1997. She completed her general medical training within the South Wales Medical Rotation in 2000. In 2001 she joined UM as a trainee lecturer in Oncology. She pursued her formal training as clinical oncologist at the Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff, UK from 2002 to 2006 and was awarded the Fellowship of Royal College of Radiologists (Clinical Oncology) in 2006. She is now the supervisor and internal examiner for the Master of Clinical Oncology programme in UM since May 2006. Working within the department Education Committee, she has deep passion for education and training of future oncologists in Malaysia. She was the Head of Department of Clinical Oncology UMMC from 2013 to 2015. During this time she was overseeing the development of Stereotactic Radiosurgery/Radiotherapy (SRS/SRT) and Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) with the designated expert teams, until successful initiation of the services in UMMC in May and September 2015, respectively. She is currently in the UMMC Intra-Operative Radiotherapy Working Group to introduce the service in UMMC in the near future. She is an Exco Committee member for Malaysia Oncological Society since 2013. She is a member of College of Radiology Academy of Medicine Malaysia and European Society for Medical Oncology. Her areas of special interest include genitourinary cancer, sarcoma, breast and gastrointestinal cancers. She is the principle investigator for several international clinical trials mainly in urological cancers and regularly speaks in the areas of her interest at both local and international conferences.
