Mohd Fakhrul Zamani Bin Abdul Kadir was born in Klang town, Malaysia. He received Bachelor's Degree in Computational and Electronics Physics from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2006. He immediately joined Texas Instruments (M) Sdn. Bhd. as a manufacturing executive before pursuing his MSc. studies in 2007. He has received an award for completing his Ph.D in less than 3 years from the University of Malaya in 2010. He was a Senior Lecturer at the Physics Division, Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, University of Malaya from 2010 to 2016. Since 2016, he has been promoted as an Associate Professor. He was appointed as the Deputy Director (Academic and Development) of Centre for Foundation Studies in Science from November 2014 to July 2016. He is now currently serving Physics Department, Faculty of Science. Since joining the University of Malaya, he has received funding and grants of nearly RM 1.27 Million, published 139 journal papers in ISI-indexed with 42 H index and successfully supervised to completion of 4 PhD, 1 MPhil and 1 MEng. Degree by research candidates. He is an active reviewer for numerous high quality journals, which include publishers from Springer and Elsevier. Since 2010, he has been the Head of Advanced Materials Lab in UM. During his postgrad studies, he has won several prestigious awards from within and outside the country. Among the awards that are the pride of university's and country is the Prize Ministry of Education and Science of The Russian Federation and Silver Medal at the International Trade Fair 2007 (Iena) Nuremberg, Germany which was awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Government. The excellence in his research continues while serving the university as academician where his research work has gained international attention once again when he was awarded the Exclusive 'Physica Scripta Highlights of 2013' Collection for his research entitled "Electrical analysis of amorphous corn starch-based polymer electrolyte membranes doped with LiI". He is listed as one of the World’s top 2 % scientist for the year of 2019 and 2022 by Stanford University.

He is also a research fellow at the Institute for Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (IBDAAI) of UiTM Shah Alam, Malaysia. He was named in the Top 2% World Scientists Ranking by Stanford University and Elsevier BV, since 2019-present and his mathematics Erdos number is 4. He is also named in the most prolific DBLP-computer science authors and one of the best computer scientists from Malaysia according to https://research.com/. He received a PhD degree in information technology from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2010. He was a visiting researcher at Parallel and Distributed Computing Research Lab of Deakin University, Australia. He has more than 18 years experiences as academic staff and has supervised many Master & PhD students. He has also examined many Master & PhD Theses from Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and China. He is the associate editor of Springer Nature Computer Science Journal (Scopus), editor of International Journal of Knowledge and Systems Science, IGI Global (Scopus), and editor-advisory board member of the book series “Information Systems Engineering and Management / ISEM” of Springer Nature. He has edited many Springer-series books and published more than 330 articles in various book chapters, international journals, and conference proceedings (with Scopus h-index 36 and ISI WoS h-index 29). He is a reviewer for international journals including top reputable journals e.g., Knowledge-Based Systems, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, Information Sciences, IEEE Access, and many more. He delivered more than 50 keynote addresses, invited workshop and seminars, and has been actively served as a chair, co-chair, program committee member and co-organizer for numerous international conferences/workshops. He is the general chair of the 8th Asian Conference in Pattern Recognition /ACPR-2025, which will be held in Bali, Indonesia. His research area includes data science and big data, data engineering and information systems, soft computing and data mining, and information technology for tourism.
show more »Ainee is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya. Her current research interests lie in the intersection between law and culture from a historical perspective. Ainee has published several articles in journals including the Queen Mary Journal of Intellectual Property, European Intellectual Property Review and the Hong Kong Law Journal. Her most recent article, ‘Pricing and Profiting in Copyright: An Introduction to Islamic Perspective’, is published in the Queen Mary Journal of Intellectual Property. She was previously attached at the School of Law, Nankai University as a Fellow under the Understanding China Fellowship, and at the Centre for Law & Business, Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore as a postdoctoral fellow. She was also the Deputy Dean (Research) at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Malaya.
