Dr. Siti Soraya Abdul Rahman is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology. She was appointed as a program leader for ALEPS (Adaptive Learning Environment for Problem Solving) under the Innovative Technology Research Cluster. Previously, she was the Head of Augmented Human Learning Program, under the Humanities Research Cluster, University of Malaya. Currently, she is the Principal Investigator for a UM Living Labs @ UMSDC entitled "Smart Waste Management System: An IoT-Based Approach For Automated Waste Classification And Bin Monitoring". She is also a University of Malaya Library Committee representing the faculty. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Glamorgan, UK in 1998 and received a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Malaya in 2003. She was conferred with a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Sussex, UK in 2012. Her current research interests are in the area of Machine Learning and Deep Learning; Knowledge Representation and Reasoning; Data Science (predictive analytics, data analytics, text analytics, and sentiment analysis); Cognitive Science (cognition and programming; physics problem solving); Artificial Intelligence in Education; E-learning and Expert System.
