Dr. Siti Soraya Abdul Rahman served as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Artificial Intelligence within the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at Universiti Malaya. She was appointed the Program Leader for ALEPS (Adaptive Learning Environment for Problem Solving) in Physics under the Innovative Technology Research Cluster. She had previously held the position of Head of the Augmented Human Learning Program under the Humanities Research Cluster. As a Principal Investigator, she led a UM Living Labs @ UMSDC project, "Smart Waste Management System: An IoT-Based Approach For Automated Waste Classification and Bin Monitoring." She also secured an international research grant for a collaborative project with the University of Bengkulu, Indonesia, entitled "Personalised Learning Technologies based on Learning Style using Fuzzy Logic". Additionally, she represented her faculty as a member of the Universiti Malaya Library Committee. Dr. Siti Soraya graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Glamorgan, UK, in 1998, received a Master's degree in Computer Science by Research, specialising in Human-Computer Interaction from Universiti Malaya in 2003, and was conferred a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Sussex, UK, in 2012. Her research interests and expertise encompass Machine Learning, Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) for human activity recognition and waste monitoring. She also worked in the areas of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Data Science—including predictive, data, and text analytics, as well as sentiment analysis—Cognitive Science, with a focus on cognition in programming and physics problem-solving, Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED), E-learning, and Expert Systems. |
